I'm not gonna lie, I've not contributed to this sub-board this season... or ever...
My husband is on this site all the time but Im a long time lurker, first time poster. Im desperate to roll him this year so dont want to let him know what my team is (or that Im posting).

I've just spent a few hours putting a team together, logged ito Bigfooty, made a few key changes (rookies who should play instead of guesses!) and this is what im left with.

I like it. Possibly spend the extra money upgrading Yarran or knights to an extra keeper but if you like their chances (and most people do), why not hang on to them. The rest is pretty good.

I'm taking a punt on the extra mid-pricers in Adcock & Salopek rather than one extra rookie-gun approach. I like both their chances to increase and should be easier upgrades to keepers mid season.

Not bad. The bolded players in your backline all miss round 6, which is an issue. You need to remove either Broughton or Duffield. You also need to have one of Heppell or Hibberd in the midfield as they're multiposition players and you can swap them as need be. There's no point having them both in the backline, especially when you don't currently have an MP in the midfield.

Your forwardline is a tad weak for me.

^^^ I've gone with roughhead as a cheapish option the last couple of years and has endlessly disappointed, can bag a decent score or a 40, and with Hale coming in as well as Franklin I don't think he's going to improve much.

After flogging off Chapman I've found myself with $110k in the bank and not sure what to do with it (or just hang on to it for upgrades?), any advice:

- No Harris (GC), he is a must, will play and score better than Gaff and is cheaper

If Beams aint selected (I doubt) go Bewick. I've gone Bewick over Beams. Bewick does have better JS and scoring potential IMHO. But Beams is gunna kill it. Both should play early

I'm not sold on Yarran. Carlton have plenty of rebounding defenders. I think they share it out fairly evenly so its hard to pick the one HBer who will consistently score well.

These players I definitely wouldn't pick. Not sure who Tape, Pittard, Howe and Skinner are though??? Too much money on your ruck bench. Downgrade Fraser to Bailey or someone like that and upgrade Dangerfield to a premium.

Backs - Stanley will score more than Hunt. The rest looks fine.
Midfield - Shuey and S.Selwood? I would probably only pick 1 of them picking them both is taking a big gamble. You sure you want Judd he isn't a great DTer. Watson? Probably better picks around his price. Also you need a DPP in the midfield who has both back and midfield so you can swap him with Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio or Heppell. I recommend Hibberd.
Rucks - Mcintosh is injured I'm pretty sure he wont be ready round 1. Lycett wont play this year I wouldn't think with NN and Cox playing.
Forwards - Didak coming back from injury will probably score average at the beginning of the season. Rest of forward line looks good.
