DEF: Goddard, Shaw, Deledio, Grimes, Hargrave, Clarke, Ellis (Brown, Wilkes)

RUCK: Cox, Sandilands (Everybodys rookies)

FWD: Chapman, Franklin, Pavlich, Martin, Porplyzia, Smedts, Sexton (Kerridge, Treloar)

Very rough atm, not sold at all on Hargrave and Porps as well as the majority of rookies. Time will tell. :thumbsu:

All your 4 mid premiums share the round 12 bye......

Just finished my first draft. It's based on gut feeling with no research on the byes, rookies or injuries what so ever lol...

BACKS
Scotland, Goddard, Waters, Grimes, Connors, Clarke, Ellis, Darley, Brown

MIDDS
Boyd, Pendlebury, Ablett, Murphy, Montagna, Horsely, Shiel, Neale

RUCKS
McEvoy, Stephensen, Giles, Rowe

FORWARDS
Franklin, Martin, Pavlich, Fyfe, Porplyzia, Pfeiffer, Treloar, Smedts, Hampton

I've picked Waters because I know he can score really well, he just has to stay on the park. Connors I believe is in the same boat but it's just whether he is in Richmonds best 22. Oh and I have 100k left over.

these byes are really going to make teams this year look even more alike than before. You are pretty much pidgeon holed for premium forwards if you want to avoid zeros...

After about 1000 revisions and still having made no effort to avoid byes, here goes....

B: Scotland, Enright, Ellis, Lake, Clarke, Ugle, Wilkes - Smedts, Morris
M: Pendles, Swan, Ablett, Chapman, Goddard, Shiel - Smith, Mitchell
R: McEvoy, Minson - Stephenson, Giles
F: Franklin, Beams, Pavlich, Walker, Darling, Treloar, Walsh - Curran, Panos

Appreciate any comments/suggestions.

I would definitely not go Minson.
Beams is fully priced and you might be able to pick him up cheaper considering he will be playing predominately forward.
Not sure on Walker as he usually needs a bag to score well
Wicked midfield but Id be wary on starting chappy and god in there

Solid team though

I have to watch Minson's output closely in the NAB. Realistically, he'd have to be favoured as our #1 ruck, as the others are too green to go through a full season. If he gets the game time and some time resting forward, he could score well. He does have a few issues though, I agree.

Good point on Beams. He was a last minute trade in when I realised I had about 4 Fwd-Mid DPP's, but no-one to swap with in midfield. Hence Chappy switched into forwards and Beams came in. I'll probably swap either Smith or Mitchell for a cheap DPP player at some stage.

I'm hoping that Walker will benefit from Carlton's improving midfield. Judd, Murphy etc will hopefully continue their form of last year and hopefully Walker can benefit. He is a huge risk though....

I'm pretty sure I need to think the DPP links and byes through more closely at this stage. Appreciate the comments.

Here's the winning team fellas!

Def - Goddard, Deledio, Newman, Duffield, Lake, Smedts, Spurr (Ellis, Bugg)

Mid - Swan, Pendlebury, Boyd, Ablett, Shiels, Zorko. (Clifton, McDonald)

Rucks - McEvoy, Jacobs (Stephenson, Giles)

Fwds - Chapman, Robinson, Martin, Sidebottom, Chistensen, Hampton, Walsh (Treloar, Wilson)

To be honest it's an unrealistic team because I have way too many GWS rookies, and I'd be screwed for round 11. But in terms of my choice of structure and premiums I'm interested in people's thoughts.

Looks good RT. Maybe 1 less rookie in the fwds would reduce the risk if you can mix up the structure a bit. Watch Fyfe through the Nab, he had groin and shoulder Ops off season. Mitchell is out for the Nab and unlikely for early games

Cheers again Dogs. Obviously a starting squad and will be relying on NAB Cup to have a look at the rookies.

Pretty good, but I wouldn't go in with that many risky picks. Lake, Grimes, Brown, Porplyzia, Winderlich, Hayes and Barlow are all coming off injuries. McIntosh is also a risky pick as we don't know what role he'll play at North.

For the record I have Grimes, Winderlich and Barlow.

Backs: Goddard, Shaw, Houli, Hanley, Duffield, Clarke, Ellis (Brown, Sierakowski)

Mids: Ablett, Selwood, Thompson, Stanton, Clifton, Mcdonald (Shiel, Neale)

Rucks: Leuenberger, McEvoy (Giles, Stephenson)

Forwards: Robinson, Zaharakis, Martin, Sidebottom, Veszpremi, Cripps, Hampton (Smedts, Kerridge)

Thoughts appreciated! Rookies are subject to change depending on the NAB Cup.

18K in the bank.

First post of 2012 squad. Rookies are subjective picks but keen for views on structure and or suggested restructure.

$23,100 in bank
Def - Goddard, Deledio, Heppell, Grimes, M.Clarke, Ellis, Mohr (L.Brown, Wilkes)
Mid - Swan, GAJ, Rockliffe, Selwood, McDonald, K.Stevens (Shiel, Neale)
Ruck - Sandi, HMac (Giles, Stephenson)
Fwd - Buddy, Goodes, Fyfe, Martin, J.Brown, Christensen, Treloar (Sexton, Smedts)

Like all, keen to see if the popular rook's perform in NAB to justify a spot in the starting 30. Would love to find this years Curnow.

Heppell performed well last year but do you think he will improve to get an average above 90 to be worth the pick? I'm not sure and I don't think it's worth the risk with better options around his price.
Grimes is always injured. He may score you a couple of 90s in a first round but then get injured and be out for half the season.
Will Mcintosh get a game? Goldstein would be number 1 and Petrie would be the 2nd choice you would think. If Mcintosh plays he will be worth the price however the question remains will he get a game?
J.Brown always injured and older now. Wouldn't pick him. Maybe in SC no in DT.
Christensen wont rack it up enough IMO unless he moves to the midfield a lot more?????
