Not sure about Monfries he is pretty inconsistent, maybe better to get someone like Christensen.
Saad is a proven goalsneak and mature age but will he get into the StKilda forward line with Milne/Schneider in there already?
Backline looks a little bit weak, maybe spend a bit less on your rucks and upgrade someone there.

My current lineup, fairly reliant on GWS rookies atm but may change those according to round 1 teams:

dreamteamq.jpg

Not too bad but like you said, pretty reliant on GWS rookies making you some cash!
Idea isnt flawed but id look at swapping some of them for rookies at other sides to mix it up because the GWS players will most likely get rotated alot!
Also i think Christensen may be injured at the moment so double check that! :thumbsu:

Looks like the stock standard Bigfooty team - nothing at all wrong with that.

Hi All, would like some help with my team – I have $63,500 remaining but not sure how i can make the team better – would love some help. thanks all.
DEF: Goddard, Enright, Shaw, Broughton, Dellidio, Hargrave, Bower, , (Darley, Webberley)
MID: Ablett, Murphy, Pendlebury,Hogan, Smith, , Magner, (Phieffer, McDonald)
Ruck: HMAC, Giles, Stephenson, Redden
FOR: Franklin, Fyfe, Robinson, Riewoldt (NICK), Martin, Dangerfield, Porpus, (Cameron, Dell’Olio)

some things im thinkin bout.
option 1 - downgrade roo upgrade bower to prem?
option 2 - fix my rucks??

how could i spend my 64 k wisely?>?

THANKS@!!

I dont think bower is a great pick. much better rookie options who will play more games and average higher.

Danger and Porpz is very risky. If Adelaide have a poor DT game your forward line is going to struggle for points. there are better options then danger.

Ok A few changes to my team

Goddard, B. Deledio, B. Shaw, H. Hargrave, R. Clarke, M. Ellis, B. Mohr, T. [Wilkes, B. Morris, S]

Pendlebury, S. Ablett, G. Mitchell, S. Selwood, J. Hayes, L. Pfeiffer, D. [Magner, J. Brown, L]

Sandilands, A. Giles, J. [Rowe, S. Stephensen, O]

Franklin, L. Sidebottom, S. Robinson, M. Martin, D. Fyfe, N. Treloar, A. Hampton, C. [Zorko, D. Hall, A]

$165,300 remaining

Thoughts? Do I need another premium in the back? Should I get rid of Hayes and bring in another rookie? Should I bring in HMAC for Rowe for more cover in the ruck???

Personally I would downgrade Hayes to a rookie and upgrade a back, Hayes averaged 86 the year after his last reco, I don't think he will be back at his best.

Sandilands will be rested at times this year, managed for finals Ross Lyon has a history of this anyone who was playing DT in 09 can remember when he rested 5 stars in DT finals and ruined peoples games.

Been playing around with this team lately...

Grimes is definetley a risk but could be very worth it, he has been in and out of my team a few times.. Duffield same boat as broughton for me, could be great or could be a flop dt wise this year so ive played it a little more safer by selecting a more favourable player it seems in birchall.

nice mids, and coniglio will save sleepless nights before the season starts as a garanteed starter

Alot of people have been picking goodes but stats show he is a mid to upgrade mid season, i have done so the last few years and it has paid off..

also is no one going beams in the fwdline?? ive been tossing between him and sidebottom.

loving your reserves, very similar to mine..

And after my last post ive made a few changes to my team so would love some opinions on my side:

Def:
Goddard, Shaw, Deledio, Birchall, Hargrave, M.Clarke, Ellis (Bugg, Morris)

Mid:
Boyd, Ablett, Selwood, Rockliff, Shiel, Magner (K.Stevens, S.Gibson)

Ruck:
Mcevoy, Giles (Stephenson, Redden)

Fwd:
Franklin, Fyfe, Zaharakis, Martin, Sidebottom, Porplyzia, D.Smith (Pfeiffer, couch)

$54,000 left over

I want to keep saad in my side, but unsure if he will score better than smith, pfeiffer or couch..
And very interested in Neale but Stevens seems to be a better option IMO, and could swap Neale with Gibson but theres alot of hype on gibson from the roo's fans that ive heard of anyway

Toying around with the following set up:

DEF: B. Goddard, A. Carrazzo, H. Shaw, M. Suckling, R. Hargrave, C. Guthrie, B. Ellis (B. Wilson, S. Darley)
MID: S. Pendlebury, M. Boyd, G. Ablett jnr, D. Smith, K.Stevens, L. Neale (S. Gibson, J. Magner)
RUC: W. Minson, M. Kreuzer (H. McIntosh, O.Stephenson)
FWD: L. Franklin, N. Fyfe, M. Robinson, D. Martin, P. Dangerfield, J. Butcher, M. Brown (D. Pfeiffer, S. Kerridge)
CASH LEFT: $97,100

Thoughts?

Interesting setup mate love your work ;)
Would like to see a bit more of Minnow in the coming weeks..but nice allusion to the possibility of a 3 semi-premium 1 rookie structure. Interesting.
Bit skinny in the mids for mine. Sure there are some top notch cash cows in there but you'll fall a fair way behind the field with your skinny engine room... nice team though mate

Nice to see something different. Would say Giles over Stephenson as Giles will most likely make more cash but as R4 I understand not wanting to spend the trade and hence you save 20k ish.

If you are going a 5 rookie mid strategy I would also suggest paying for a Coniglio or Wingard who have the greater JS. Can see the DPP link though.

Brendon Goddard, Heath Shaw, Grant Birchall, Greg Broughton, Ryan Hargrave, Brandon Ellis, Billie Smedts, S Darley, Stephen Morris

Dane Swan, Matthew Boyd, Gary Ablett Jnr, Marc Murphy, Chad Wingard, Dylan Shiel, Koby Stevens, Lachlan Neale

Ben McEvoy, Jonathan Giles – Orren Stephensen, Tom Derickx

Lance Franklin, Mitch Robinson, David Zaharakis, Steele Sidebottom, Nick Riewoldt, Darren Pfeiffer, Adam Kennedy – Adam Treloar, Sam Kerridge

CASH LEFT: $146,700

This is what I currently have at the moment - Thoughts?

Have gone the one senior ruck strategy, to try and improve other areas of the team. Haven't quite decided on a few rookies, and also some of the premiums. For example, I can easily slot Dustin Martin or Adam Goodes into the forward line, or Heath Scotland into the backline.

It's a risky strategy, but if Giles can average 60+ I think it should pay off alright. The other side I'm toying with Leuenberger as the R2, and obviously a bit less quality around the rest of the side, and is a bit more guns/rookies oriented.

Nice team mate.

I think you need to use that cash and i also think D.Martin is a must have.

That backline is very similar to mine. You have an impressive top 4 mids, they should all finish top 8 at the end of the year IMO.

Im not sure how Robinson is going? is he injured? yet to play in both NAB games unsure why

I've tried to go differently in the ruck this year and currently have McEvoy and Minson....

Although last time I tried to do this I burnt quite a few trades and ended up with Sandlinands and Cox..... Make of this what you will...

My current side for reference: $117,900 Remaining

B: Scotland, Enright, Suckling, Hargrave, Clarke, Morris, Wilkes - Smedts, Yagmoor
M: Swan, Boyd, Ablett, Judd, Priddis, C Smith - D Smith, J Magner
R: McEvoy, Minson - Giles, Redden
F: Goodes, Cloke, Pavlich, Martin, Cooyou, Treloar, Hall - Panos, Couch

There are quite a few spots changing on a regular basis, will need to watch the rookies closely for the last few weeks...

I like the Minson pick honestly. He will improve his output by at least 15+ppg this year being the no.1 ruck. I think he can potentially finish top 5 at the end of the year for rucks, provided he stays fit etc.

I tend to agree, but whether he does something stupid and gets rubbed out is a concern....

His goalkicking on the weekend was very nice....

There are still a few players in my side yet to have a run, so will be interesting to see how they go.... I'm sure I'll have 1000 revisions between now and the opening bounce...

I have taken a few risks. The back line might be a bit shakey to start with. And the Cox in ruck is expensive. I may be able to free-up 100K by trading him and upgrading a player or two that might be more consistent.

I am also risking Dangerfield, in that he will be let loose a bit more through the midfield this season. And if Kerr can find form and stay out of the tribunal he might prove good value.

I think I have balanced stars with rookies and some calculated risks on mid-value players. Comments welcome.

In my opinion the only thing you'll get from McPhee fantasy-wise is a headache.

Not sure hownew you are, but if I'm reading your question right, it doesn't matter where players play in the live matches, all of their points count wherever you have them (hence midfielders with fwd/bac elig. being gold).

You've taken some risks in your team which is not a bad thing, but I think you've taken a few too many. Just remember not all risks reap rewards and it's easy to recover from one dud pick, not so easy from four or five. If Grimes gets injured, Clarke is dropped and a couple of your rookies play VFL, you're looking a whole tray of donuts.

But hey - I play conservative mostly. Unlikely to win a car this side of 2020, so take my advice with that in mind. ;)
