Grimes, Anthony, Fraser, Adcock, Petrie, Knights, and Chapman are generally all injury prone or coming back from injury. Your forward line especially could potentially be a disaster. Fraser is just about finished and will spend most of his time in the forward line IMO. Big No from me. Also generally young tall forwards are late starters and don't score well, maybe look at someone like Cam Richardson.

I have to agree with bulldogsman but i have noticed that Goddard-
Gibbs And Carazzo are all dual position players.Imo i would get rid of Anthony
(Being injury prone) and maybe replace him with Gilbee which would give you a link to your backs. With Sandilands he is going to be spending more time up
forward so he may not get as many touches, i would go with Cox injury free and has had a full preseason looks like he is going to fire thats just my 2 cents worth.;)

I argree as well all so put Callinan in your Fwd line

Not getting much love, ill try one last time..

Backs: Goddard, Bruce, Deledio, Duffield, Suban, Otten, Toy (Duigan, Hibberd, Puopolo)

Mids: Swan, Montagna, Judd, Gibbs, Tambling, Swallow (Heppell, Harris, Callinan)

Rucks: Jolly, Jacobs (Smith, McCauley)

Forwards: Chapman, Sylvia, Riewoldt, Yarran, Zaharakis, Dangerfield, Krakouer (Matera, Mzungu, Smith)

28K in the bank

Looks pretty good I think, possibly too many mid-pricers in the forward line though?
Possibly downgrade Tambling (or even on of your premium mids for more $) to another rookie mid, then use that to upgrade one or two of Yarran, Danger or Zaharakis. Just my suggestion!

Think you'll hit a snag come round 6, down back. Bye - Geelong Hawthorn & Freo, which means no Bruce, Duffield, Suban & Puopolo. I don't believe any of those guys are DPP's, which means Gibbs & Heppell can't swap back and cover - no biggy if you're just playing for a league win. Perhaps swap Suban for a defender that deosn't have the round 6 bye.

Neil Craig reckons Tambling mightn't be in their best 22, apparently. If he isn't, I'd probably shift Dangerfield into your midfield, to give you more access to your forwards, if needed to cover mids - vice-versa.

Yarran - I like him and he is capable. Just worry that with Betts and co around, he becomes less of a target. If he can get a bit of midfiled time, that would really help - he's got the pace for it, but not sure about the tank.

Other than that, pretty solid team.

get rid of Judd(coming off heel and groin problems) and put gibbs in the backline. also have to many mid priced players in the forward line (zaharakis, yarran, danger) keep 1 or 2 out of these and get another premium if possible

Thanks for the insight guys, a lot of great help. I wasnt aware about Judd's heel and groin problems but I double checked and it seems you're right. Alot of tweaking has seen my team move further towards a gun/ rookie strategy. From what I can digest it doesnt raise a whole lot of drama with the new fixture. The new team looks like this:

Backs: Goddard, Bruce, Deledio, Duffield, Russell, Otten, Toy (Puopolo, Duigan, Hibberd)

Mids: Swan, Boyd, Chapman, Gibbs, Swallow, Gaff (Heppell, Harris, Atley)

Rucks: Jolly, Jacobs (Smith, McCauley)

Forwards: Franklin, Sylvia, S Johnson, N Riewoldt, Zaharakis, Petrie, Mzungu (Richardson, I Smith, Callinan)

$200

Hey guys, my team at this stage. Any comments appreciated. Good or bad.

Forwards: P.Chapman, N.Riewoldt, C.Sylvia, ROK, C.Rioli, A.Krak, T.Mzungu
(B.Matera, C.Richardson, I.Callinan)

Def: goddard gibbs bruce broughton gram otten duigan

(conca gaff harris)

Ruck: sandi natanui
(hale tippet)

any thoughts? natanui isnt set in stone but i think its time he stepped up. jacobs would be the alternative. i over did it with richmond mids i guess but i like the look of them all this season...

Spending to much on ruck bench spend more on Fwd line
Watch Butcher and Darling in the preseason

yeh i put hale in to cover natanui; hes only worth 180 odd.. and joel tippet is only 110 so pretty much a rookie..i think its pretty good insurance. i also have about 160k left in the bank.

First time i've shared, no doubt it will change after NAB cup.

Backs - B Goddard, B Gibbs, B Deledio, P Duffield, N Malceski, J Gram, A Otten (Duigan, Toy, Stanely)

Mids - D Swan, L Montagna, J Bartel, A Gaff, A Krakouer, T Mzungu (D Swallow, D Heppell, D Harris)

Rucks - D Cox, D Petrie (Z Smith, N Vardy)

Forwards - A Didak, C Sylvia, N Riewoldt, M Pavlich, R Gray, C Knights, C Richardson (I Smith, J Lamb, I Callinan)

Gone with the 3 rookies in the midfield again, worked well last year and with 3 mature aged rookies I think it should be right.

Think I have too many Saints players but that will change.

Still have $50,900 in the bank so can still make a few upgrades.

Consider having Hale (or Petrie) in your FWD line instead of the rucks. Insert a rookie ruck instead. You can use DP to swap J. Tippett and Hale/Petrie.

Then use the extra cash to make an upgrade on one of the midpricers - Martin, Fyfe or Duncan.

your forward line is horrible. you need another premium forward and duncan and fyfe...well they both had an average of 67/68 last year which isnt great...one of them needs to go. you also have 6 rookies in your forward line. try cut it back to 4-5, as 6 is to risky apart from your fwds the rest is ok. not the best but ok.

I like it. You have good depth in all positions and you also have a few uniques.

I expect Ryder to be a top 3 ruck this year, but the bye in round 24 is really putting me off.

Someone please rate my team. I'm quite happy with it for the moment after a lot of fiddling.

You might be in trouble round 1 with your Defenders/Midfielders since you have 2 rookies in each position, they are not guaranteed much game time. They should be getting plenty game time but nothing is guaranteed with them right now.

My tactic would be to downgrade your rucks to save alot of $$ and select 2 b grade rucks who will play all the time depending on injury. For this I selected Sam Jacobs (Crows) & Drew Petrie (Kangaroos). Both shuold play alot and that way you can use the $$ you save int he rucks on only having 1 rookie max in your starting Defenders/Midfielders.

See if you can use this $$ to upgrade on Harris & put either Heppel/Puopolo on the bench and get another b grade value pick

to be honest, Judd has been suffering hell/groin problems on and off for a few years, it still hasnt stopped him averaging around 100+ dt pts per game the last few years. And it wont stop him this season.

He played crap last season with supposed groin worries yet he still won the brownlow after having an average season, I think this season, he will be even better, well you'd think so

In a bit of a pickle here... would appreciate some help.

DEFs: Goddard, Gibbs, Gilbee, Adcock, Otten, Heppell, Coad, (Toy, Duigan, Hibberd)
MIDs: Swan, Selwood, Pendlebury, Judd, Watson, Swallow D, (Harris, Mzungu, Atley)
RUCKs: Ryder, Jolly, (Campbell, Smith)
FWDs: Franklin, Sylvia, Morton, Zaharakis, Dangerfield, Knights, Krakouer A, (Prestia, Matera, Callinan)

$130k in the bank

Thinking I might need to strengthen the forwards with Petrie as a DP for a ruck, but unsure. Advice?

Yep, you need to strengthen your forwards and backs. The thing is your midfield (or forward) rookies will always make more then your back rookies. I'd recommend getting rid of Watson and replacing him with a rookie. Then upgrade one of your back rookies. Upgrade one of Morton, Zaharakis or Dangerfield for your forwards also. Your rucks are very strong.

Backs:Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Otten, Toy, Duigan, (Coad, Hibberd, Puopollo)

I'm unsure on one thing, I don't know if I want to downgrade Bartel to Gaff and have 3 rookies starting in my midfield which would then allow me to upgrade Hibberd to Deledio in the backline or should I leave as is. What are peoples thoughts on the best option?
