Watch Coad very closely in the NAB cup fellas, the few times I saw him play in the VFL his opponent killed him. He may get the ball but...

There's also a fair bit of talk Hutchins (i think) will get a go before Coad, so he might not even play first up. Source - Gold Coast board

Coad will play because he is ready made for AFL and he is a mature aged player

for the life of me, I have no idea why some people are so persistant of starting 2 rookies in the midfield, forwards or rucks, and on some occassions, starting 3 !

crazy, sure if it comes of they are stars but more of a chance to fail than to succeed. Even if it might be Swallow & Harris. Starting 1 rookie in each position is enough for me.

Having only 1 rookie on each line forces you to go with mid prices. Why pick up a mid pricer when you can get a rookie that can average the same score?

Judd & Higgins

Rioli is now playing in the midfield and Anthony should score well in a better team (don't forget he would've averaged more if not for his injury). Higgins is injury prone and I don't see much improvement from Judd. Anthony and Rioli for mine.

Because rookies aren't guaranteed playing time on the field. And with the rookies if you go with say like Swallow & Harris, there is always a chance round 1 and their other bye round your midfield scores will be severly depleated.

For example, I'd rather pick Nathan Foley and have him in my starting 22 over a 1st year rookie. As long as Foley is not injured, he is guaranteed alot of game time, whilst a rookie isn't.

after Jacobs poor showing last night, yes I know it was only a t20 format and he will go heaps better in the normal format but not taking any chances. So this is my adjusted team for now

Ben Jacobs out indefinately, put wallis on the bench start Callinan but saying that, your midfield for round 1 might be struggling due to the fact Wallis might not play seniors early on and Gold Coast has the bye.

So for round 1, you may be starting with Mzungu & Callinan in your starting midfield.

200K left over, I would spend it on upgrading Dolly to Sandilands but I am just not sure if he can recreate his 2010 form.

Other than that, it is pretty much a cookie-cutter team and is 95% identical to all the rest

Nice team. Hard to improve on that until we know more from NAB cup form.

Perhaps look at McKernan instead of Talia down back. Seems to be a better chance of playing more games. I think I read on the Crows Board that Talia isn't fit at the moment too.

Just be a bit careful with the durability of your team - Otten, Foley, Knights, Petrie all coming off long-term injuries, Sylvua and Adcock are always suspect.

Don't like Wilson - better options out there.
