Callinan is out for 12 weeks so you need to trade him out. There are much better options than Goodes in the midfield as well, I'd upgrade him to Montagna or Swan.

I'd look at upgrading Petrie too, suspended R1, bye in R3 and massive injury concerns clouding his future, I'd steer clear. If you really want a low priced ruck (something I'm personally not keen on), McEvoy would be a better option in that range IMO.

Like this team a lot.

If Boak and Cotchin remain injury free, I think they'll tear it apart this season. My concern would be Corey. Just wonder whether he is getting to the stage of his career where injuries become an issue.

Bruce is getting on but he's incredibly fit and I expect Hawthorn will be hoping he finds a lot of the ball around half-back.

Everitt is a bit of a punt. Form is good in pre-season. Hopefully under the tight swans outfit he will settle quickly and achieve some consistency.

If I decide to take out Corey, tell me i'm crazy to bring in Kerin Jack, I have already talked myself out of it but now I am reconsidering.

Looks much better IMO, just need to get Thomas up to a genuine midfield premium I reckon, he is a bit too inbetween at the price he is and I doubt he'll improve significantly this year. Bartel would be the guy I'd be personally aiming for, I think he'll be better looked after under Scott and should step straight into Ablett's vacated position. Also I think his elbow injury curtailed him a bit in the back half of last year, if he is fit and firing he should improve his scoring a bit.

Just off my head, Bartel is like 437k and Thomas like 397k yeah? So adding your 34k, you still need about 10k. If I was you, I'd downgrade Derickx to McCauley because I think your 3 other rucks will be strong enough to see you through the season. Then with the extra cash, change Thomas to a midfielder who is more likely to be top 10 in his position come years end (i.e. Bartel).
Also saves you from having two Collingwood premiums in the midfield which you'll find a hassle in the Maggies' bye weeks.

If you want the link between the midfield and the forward line, put Mzungu in the guts for Beams or Libba and bring someone like Matera into the forward line to replace him.

A. Moore and Roberton shouldn't be in your side. There are a lot of cheap backs who could be good money makers this year, they aren't the ones IMO. You probably want to upgrade one of them to Deledio/Gibbs etc to sure up the defence too.

someone has to play the Malceski role, Sydney aren't going to change their structure much in his absence even with a new coach. Everitt is definitely worth a mention as a 6th back.

You thinking of a mid priced backman where I have Duffield (or another rookie?)? Nobody really jumps out at me in the 200-315k range in the backmen. Where do you plan to use the cash saved from the downgrade in the backline?

Well as long as you can justify his selection in your side then I'm not going to tell you he is a terrible pick, because he isn't. I was just making sure you didn't just slot him in as he was at the right price point. Asides from him your team looks pretty safe.

Really like this team, Foley apparently played really well against the hawks, O'keefe might be hit and miss but at his price it's a calculated risk with perhaps some rewards to come, wish I could find someone else other then Darling for my last rookie spot, being a forward in a low ladder side is not filling me with confidence. Liking Gwilt, looks full of confidence and it seems he is fast becoming the go to man in the saints backline.
