Power, Black, Stevens, Brown and Bowden all will be playing for Carlton next year?

Would u rather go to a club with a great coach, great history, a very reasonable expectation that things can turn around in 2 or 3 years like Collingwood, (Carlton has the resources bar draft picks which we'll get next year anyhow) or a rabble like Geelong or the Bulldogs or seem destined never to win a flag ?
If any player had ambition they would choose Carlton over some other sides IMO

Carlton: a proud history of player payment rorts and corrupt management.

Q. Why do Carlton have the resources to improve?

A. Because of the sheer number of blindly optimistic idiots that follow them.

PS I'm looking forward to seeing the Geelong "Rabble" destroy your blues over the next three years.:D

That quote coming from a club whom one of it's past champions rorted and defrauded an entire community, and caused many people to lose their life savings (David Clarke)

U tell me what is the worse crime.
Besides Carlton did the crime and we got punished equally if not more severely then the actual crime.
Geelong are a mediocre club with a failure of success. giving the team a parade of the town after losing a grand final (1989) is a sure sign of that.
At least Carlton have got the guts to chop off the dead weed and we don't tolerate failure (although we have to cop our lot now due to poor list managaement and AFL sanctions)
I would bet Carlton are more likely to attract an top free agent then Geelong.

how do you define "don't tolerate failure"

I am sure you mean "poor list managaement and blatant cheating"

possibly because you have a higher pick in the pre season draft.

If you mean you expect someone would want their current club to trade them to Carlton .. you're dreamin'

Geelong just lack leadership and a decent talll Forward target.

Carlton lack talent

Geelong lack players who have heart and toughness as well. They desperatley need a Chris/Brad Scott type enforcer.
Apart from Joel Corey who is admitttedly going to be a great player, most of Geelong's players, whilst talented appear to be soft ***** who shrirk away from the hard stuff.

Let's not start talking about what each club needs. You've gotta agree your wish list is longer than ours. I do agree though that Carlton can attract free agents easier than Geelong. They've a proud history of trading instead of building.

Maybe so but a new regime is in charge - out with the old, flawed philosphies

We have blooded I think 6 first year players this year (Mcormick, Waite, Angwin counts (I don't think he played with Adelaide), Fisher, Karl Norman and Kade Simpson.
If that isn't a rebuilding program I don't know what is. Geelong has a better list, but I don't think there is a much difference between the clubs. The gap will surprise u next year, especially with our no 2 picks in the national and pre seasons draft

Carlton actually recruit the dead weed.Martyn,McKernan,Mansfield,Murphy,McGuane [must be something with M],O'Rielly and the list goes on and on.

Um only 2 players are left on that list (and at least 1 if not both are most likely leaving)

Sure the Mick Martyn experiment failed, but it was worth a punt with the last pick in the draft. Geelong's recent record isn't great either, Aaron Lord and Mitchell White weren't exactly match winners. Most clubs have skeltons in the closet, but Carlton admittedly probably more then most, but that is all changing.

I could be wrong but didn't David Clarke finish his career at Carlton?

Figures

If Stevens agrees to the offer from Carlton, that will get Nathan brown at Carlton in a flash, becasue he has stated he will move to Carlton if they sign up a big player. Having them two we could just want to sign up rawlings then get misiti for allan!
