Red Powerade is the best by a mile. Cant tell the difference between the 2 on the other colours. Orange is good though.

Thought this was a Powerade vs Gatorade debate, in which case I reckon Powerade tastes better, and on the basis that taste is inversely proportional to healthiness, Gatorade probably does its job better.

I don't like gatorade at all. With powerade: red > blue > green > yellow > orange > pale greeny/blue one.

Blue Gatorade is an abomination and was spoken against in Leviticus.

Wrong actually! They were no different until Powerade went 'Isotonic'.

Isotonic means 'in balance. Basically they formulated Powerade Isotonic to be exactly what your body needs to get the most out of hydration. They right balance of sodium, sugars and minerals. This has been tested intensively throughout the NSW Institute of Sport and found to be in line with what Powerade have preached. They put two athletes on rowing machines, gave one Powerade Isotonic 90 minutes before exercise, and found that person went around 10% longer than the other athlete.

Gatorade is not a Isotonic formulation and therefore has an inbalance of components, thus not getting the most benefit for hydration. Powerade is the only Isotonic brand in Australia.

Also, aren't there technically two red Gatorades? Tropical and Fierce Berry are both pretty red.

Ha! Yep sure do. When we had the launch the elite performance manager from the Swans (Dave Mission??) came and spoke to us about it all, normally I would take what Coke says as "we want to sell our products, make up some crap" but he drew the same conclusions...

Strawberry Blast is awesome, followed by Gold Rush.
