As RobsJourney pointed out, I don’t think Lalor will ever have Dusty’s movement style due to his build. He’s more in the Ollie Wines mold, and that’s not a bad thing. Lalor looks more fluid in the forward 50 and stronger overhead than Wines (from junior footage). Physically, though, he does resemble Wines with that massive head, broad shoulders, and wide neck. Realistically, he’s shaping up to be a hoss, losing 20kg isn't happening, he'll lower his body fat % but he'll look even bigger
Lalors kicking skills makes Ollie Wines look like an Auskick kid.

Wines is a more contested ground ball orientated mid whereas Lalor is a legitimate one-on-one deep forward/Midfield option. Wines has kicked 15 goals in a season once. The rest have been less then 10.

Lalor will play the Cam Rayner type role in his first year or two. Lalor is a big moment type match winner.

Rayner kicked 20.15 in his first season and Lalor could have an even bigger impact IMO.

As far as body types go wines and Lalor are similar but that’s where it stops.

A few might turn their nose up at the comparison but DeGoey is a very good comparison for Lalor at this stage

Especially in terms of marking and kicking

Lalor still has him covered in terms of tacking and ground ball ability (if we are comparing draft age)

But still very similar types of players that will have a similar career trajectory (starting forward early and eventually becoming a cameo mid

Yep just talking about how that physique moves, there’s less fluidity in a huge unit like Wines. His gait, moving from contest to contest. He’s not the same style of player at all that’s not the comparison

De Goey is a gun player that just didnt get the best out of his talent because he is a D ! ck head

If he had the work ethic and attitude of a player like Petracca , Bont , Dusty he has the talent to be at these heights as well

It's ok to believe and show a bit of faith. Your not going to be killed if you do 🤣
Can't wait for the team to play in 25. Gunna be so good.

I’m excited for the season too, but let’s be honest, we were bottom 4 bound even if we had a fit list last season.

Nope just have confidence in our list. Those experienced players we lost had all tapped out early last year when injuries piled up. we are a better team than 2024 showed.

I also have confidence in a few youngsters like Bauer & McAuliffe who hopefully get more time on the ground in decent positions. I'm excited to see how Fawcett goes from all the preseason reports and thats even before we talk about our new recruits who are all massive kids.

Are we playing off in finals? No chance we still have a list that is now too young for that but we are going to be better than most expect.
good to hear Fawcett maybe on the up, they have plenty of talls to compete against and develop with

That’s a worrying sign
Yeah not ideal but still very early in the pre season so not exactly panic stations

Could of had a clean out or some kind of procedure post season and still on a modified program

Really won’t know if there is anything to really worry about until the boys get back after Xmas

Lalor is almost exactly the same height & weight that Dusty was in his draft year

what a load of trollop

we beat the swannettes with half a list

Way more exciting than if we'd kept all the departing players and sputtered into 14th for the next 3 years.
that’s right, rather lose games with kids playing then senior players not trying.
