Can't believe our club was too mealy-mouthed to use the word 'Christmas'.
We are at such a low point from a results and admin POV.

If it wasn't for the 2024 superdraft, I would be permanently ECO .

pretty big deal coming from a historically Catholic club?
I know it didn't end well, but we had the 2IC to the Pope as our patron till 5 years ago!
Not that I'm religious in any way, but seriously, you would just assume club media staff were inducted to have some inkling of our history.

One question. The club could not come around to whish us a Merry Christmas but other organizations were wishing us a happy Jewish Christmas? I know which one would be seen upon as more uncomfortable.

Exactly! I was thinking the same, we sometimes call the players soft, but even the softest players wouldn’t take a backward step like that.
Anyway, it’s clear that out super-draftees are the only good thing happening at the club at the moment, ill just focus on them this year, ECI!

how do you know our super-draftees said merry christmas though? what if they don't know that richmond is a "historically catholic club", i bet the new woke gen z super-draftees are too woke to say christmas so idk if you should be ECI at this point !

Look I'll try to explain why I remain ECI, on balance:
THE BAD.
Onfield results: WOAT in club history in 2024. Grade: Rock bottom.
Coaching: WOAT coaching season in club history, in contention currently for WOAT in VFL/AFL history to date in terms of winning %- Camel disaster, taking premiership champion photos down disaster, cannot name a single player that was improved in 2024 except HRS disaster. Grade: Rock bottom.
Player Retention: Lost our three best coming-into-prime players, including mulitiple flag-winners AND a club legend family name (Rioli). Grade: Rock bottom again.
Current senior players: 7-year contracted Balta, and to a lesser extent other seniors, involved in off-season idiocy. Grade: C- (Mint cans bailing us out from rock bottom in this category)
Admin: Getting unnecessarily involved in social media identity politics scuffles. Grade: B-
THE HOPE:
Us: Members are still buying memberships. Grade: A+ for our blind loyalty
Super-draftees: Even though we only have this category due to a rock bottom outcome mentioned earlier, we have made lemonade out of lemons IMO. These guys look amazing. Grade: A+ for future potential.
Hence, on balance, and it's not actually, but I'm focusing on the bottom two categories and am ECI again!
