No he won’t. He’ll be a run of the mill midfielder. Will accumulate but won’t do much damage. He’s not a dynamic player, a good ball winner but not many other strings to his bow. The thing that stood out to me when watching Carlton train side by side with Richmond at Maroochydore is how much smaller he is then our guys.

He'll be a very good mid. But to really impact will need the recievers around him. On his own he's an accumulator only. In a good team he's a guy who makes the next posession chain just keep happening.

Lalor, if he fullfills his potential, is a guy who makes it all happen.

Didn’t realise he’d signed with our VFL team. He’s a 3rd tall forward type, mobile and athletic. Hope he goes well in our VFL team, but we do have a number of that type on our AFL list, and plenty of developing talls that are going to take a while. Wouldn’t have thought his type would be a need for us down the track.

I usually subscribe to no news is good news, but I must admit to being surprised about the lack of reports on Armstrong throughout the pre-season. Even Sims has had more mentions than Armstrong, I dont recall a "brilliant training" or a "he was poo" big footy report
