From AFL site:

"Richmond forward Liam McBean provided a strong target in the Friday practice match and took a couple of big marks to display his potential.

Midfielder and ex-Cat Taylor Hunt was another Tiger to impress, while Jason Castagna, who was elevated to the senior list during the week, showed off his breakaway ability. "

I wonder if Dimma is ballsy enough to chuck McBean in as third tall for round 1?

Btw, does anyone know how Vickery went or if he ended up playing at all?

I'd like to see McBean round 1. If he fails we make the change for round 2, if he succeeds then sky is the limit. It could be a small possibility given we opted for Chol in the last practice game over Griffiths. Chol is more like McBean, and maybe McBean has been carrying something.

Anyways goals win matches and McBean is a goal kicker, so is Lloyd and Lennon.

Got no problem taking a risk on this forward line round 1 because I can see 6 players capable of kicking 30+ goals in a year, and Sheds if he plays mainly forward.

HF: Lennon, Riewoldt, Deledio
F: McBean, Vickery, Lloyd

On the other hand Griffiths has shown he can't kick bags of goals with only 24 goals in his last 29 games (2014 & 2015) and only one bag of more than 2. In other words he hasn't helped us win many games. Pretty much blame him for our final loss against North because he missed two relatively easy shots on goal when we had the ascendency in the game.

I fail to see how someone who didn't play a single nab game and then does a couple of good thing in a vfl prac match is even in consideration for round 1??
Sounds to me like he has fallen off the radar. Possibly doesn't have the right attitude in pre season to get snubbed three times. In particular in one of the game which we went in with practically no key forwards other than jack and still got snubbed.

Those calling for bean need to ask themselves why Chol got three games and Chaplin two as a forward compared to beans half a game vs Freo. Doesn't seem to be in the coaches immediate plans. Griff love or hate will get games due to his size and being able to pinch hit in the ruck. Is bigger & stronger than bean even though neither have stamped themselves as b22.

Mcbean didn't play at all vs freo

Because the club doesn't always make great decisions. If this club always made decent decisions, we would have been serious contenders by now.

IMO it was a mistake to not include McBean in a preseason match if he wasn't carrying anything. We needed to experiment in our forward line to find a better lineup and have not used McBean, the joint Frosty-Miller medal winner of last year
I am sure we could have trialled him in at least one game

Yeh the club should make all its decisions based on bigfooty opinions!!!

I agree but there had to be a reason he got left out and a Chol got 3 games.

From the outer it looks like the club rates him as a goal kicker at VFL more than someone likely to play early in 2016. Whether you think it's a mistake or not by the club is irrelevant, they don't rate or have spots available for players who can play only one role.

I reckon they're are probably thinking that there's not room for Vickery, maybe Griff and then Mcbean as well in the same team. Defensive pressure drops off and we don't kick enough ground level goals with that set up. We'll probably go for more smalls and medium sized forwards this year.
