- LJ (Liam Jones) - genuine leading goal kicking forward. Taking marks on lead in F50 and Dyl yelling out - "that's why we got him". Quite funny
- Graham and Cripps pushing each other and setting standard amongst the younger players. A bit like Curnow and Bell amongst the senior group
- Wood looking much fitter than this time last year
- Saw Giles still in a moon boot in reception area
- Sheehan doing a bit of running. I think on a campaign to drop a few kilos

Great spirit amongst the group - have been to a lot of training sessions and probably the loudest of heard them on the track - youthful enthusiasm.

Go Baggers

Dyl Buck. What a legend.

When you start at a new club, and the guys make you feel welcome and get behind you with encouragement can do wonders for your confidence. Love hearing Dyl Buck doing exactly that.

It might be light hearted and fun in spirit, and only something small. But that is something leaders do. Well done Dyls!

He is glorious.

I did see a few worried faces talking to Thomas at the end (Malthouse and Butters I think) and he was stretching his groin but no other signs of injury that I could see except Fraser Russell with what appeared to be severe cramp

heh you did say he looked fit :p

Forgot to mention in my write up that Graham had a go at one of the other younger players (didn't pick up who it was) - in a good way though and in a way you'd expect a leader to do it.

They had to do a lot of running today and one of the players didn't run around the cone but cut through instead. Butters made them do it again because of it. Graham yelled at him across the ground but was pissed not because they had to do it again, as he was flying on top of the ground anyway, but his message was ... "there is no cutting corners."

Seems to be the squad's approach.

Sensational!!!!!

So much to like about that post..but god to see that Graham is stepping up and showing some leadership.

Kid is going to be a star..can't wait to see him tear it up next year!

Just imagine in a few years when these kids become the crux of our side... very exciting. I look forward to seeing a young side run out v Weagles in the NAB Challenge...

White - Jaksch - Bucks
Dick - Rowe - Tuohy
Sheehan - Cripps - Bell
Menz - Jones - Everitt
Casboult - Watson - Tutt
Wood - Whiley - Graham
Holman - Ellard - Dick - Johnson - Byrne - Armfield
Emg: Russell - Warnock - Giles
Rested - Jamo, Simmo, Judd, Hendo, Carrazzo, Murph, Gibbs, Yaz, Walker, Thomas, Curnow & Kreuz

Very exciting to see such an exciting young side yet with so much (fit) talent to be added.

Makes for some good depth-related selection dramas for Round 1, that's for sure.

I love what Bucks said. What a guy.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the enthusiasm that seems to about the group in more recent times had a bit of a starting point through Daisy Thomas.

The moment that guy stepped into our pre-season last year, you could feel the change and the want of players supporting others.

Given the clean out we had, we haven't many left that may be seen to drag down others any more and we'll be better off for it.

Agree but seems someone is still cutting corners and Nickey G ain't a fan :)

It sounds great that 20y.o. players are bringing their peers into line and not waiting for one of the leadership group to do so.

Cripps, Buckley, Graham and Docherty don't mind letting others know what they think.

Fantastic group of leaders right there, and all still very early in their careers. Great work by the recruiters.

Barker praises new youngsters

Carlton assistant coach John Barker is full of praise for the Blues' brand new faces.

The first to fourth year players tick off their second week of preseason training today and Barker says the new recruits have so far impressed with their efforts – Kristian Jaksch and Mark Whiley among them.

Speaking to Croc Media, Barker said the former Greater Western Sydney players have adjusted well to life at Visy Park.
