Was standing next to Jaksch in the coffee shop, and he is ... Skinny!

Not confident about him holding down a key forward this year. A year of development and intense weights and he'll be ready to go next year.

Controversial!

Actually before this gets taken out of context I was referring to the fact he had his back to the action while the training was on! The A League fans will know what I am talking about.

People forget or just get confused between Micks media profile and reality. But Mick is one of the elite coaches when it comes to getting to know his players and what makes them tick. The Jones boy seemed a bit mishandled at the dogs. Mick has already got him training at another level. Lets hope that he grabs his opportunity and make the dogs pay for their lack of confidence in him.
Agree.

MM seems to know who needs a cuddle and a bit of love and who needs a kick up the tail.

Seems to pressing the right buttons with Jones - hope we see results when the real stuff starts.

FWIW - life will be a lot easier with Levi and Hendo alongside him than it ever was at the Dogs.

This is so true. Sometimes its also the one person who needs the cuddle or boot but at different times.

Also went today - very wet.
Haven't been to training for many years but a few observations.
1. Daisy Thomas must be one of those guys that lifts the mood of all around him. He was the most vocal and always smiling/laughing while doing the outdoor drills in spite of the pissing rain. I can understand why MM would always love to have someone like that in the group - even if it cost us plenty of $.
2. Menzel has put on some serious muscle - he would definitely have the size to spend more time in the heat in the middle.
3. Cripps looked like he was carrying a bit of puppy-fat last year. Body shape has changed considerably. Much more muscle upstairs and legs looking far more more athletic. I so hope he and Whiley can make big contributions this year - will transform our set up as a team if those 2 can be competitive in the guts.

Gibbs and Murph seemed quite quiet during drills. Jamo and Rowe far more "out there" (as was Thomas as above). Adds weight to statements form a couple of years ago that the group in general was quite introverted.

Oh and did I say Jones looked like Coleman/Kernahan/Ablett morphed into the 1 player!!

Were you perving on Jason Johnson inside at the cafe??? :)

I was looking at this guy who knew the guy that he was looking at, that knew the kid that was looking at him and the guy in the white shirt was looking at the guy with the sunglasses who was looking at Malthouse, who gave him the finger which made him angry........I think it went like that.

That is generally the position I take half way through the first quarter at many of our matches....just cannot bring myself to watch any more!!! :)

But if you don't get there til 1/4 time....do you just go and sit with your back to the game the whole time? :p

No but occasionally I am forced to drive home with my back to the radio as I struggle to listen!!
