**** scalpers. I remember they used to advertise in the paper for GF tickets and it was best offer.
In 1995 a mate and I kept calling them for shits and giggles and they were a disgrace. You know I’ve been offered $400 can you beat that? Type shit.
So we were “snapping them up” and coming Friday night or Saturday morning to pick them up.
Obviously didn’t front and got some pretty filthy phone calls.

Nobody would scalp if people didn't eat right out of their hands. Just absolutely drives me mad that these people are making a ridiculous amount of cash just for reselling a ticket. But they get away with it because more wealthy people couldn't care less about who's missing out.

Why should someone who can afford it worry about whether you can afford a ticket or not. Every man for himself. I am happy to help others get a ticket but only once I have secured my own and that may be at an inflated price.

Ta mate good to know. Does this apply for a GF? Im a gold member 35 year afl member and think going thru the afl allocation for the GF is better for me.

You would’ve had to already go in the GF ballot through the club if you wanted to go through club allocation....but regardless, much, much better chance of getting tickets in the AFL members for a gold member of a competing club

No forget what the herald sun says. Theirs 56K in public reserve. Richmond sold out its allocation much quicker than the pies. Our members then started buying into the pies allocation. We will have much more fans in the public reserve because of this.
They will have slightly more in the AFL reserve and MCC about even or maybe us a tad more.

Your biggest worry will be the stress about the flight landing on time.

Just make sure you do it before going onto the plane because if you don't register in the allotted time you miss out, will take you all of 1 minute.

Edit: dont **** up your timezones if your coming to australia, 8:00am melb time is not 8:00am in the country your coming from, but i gather you already know that.

Thanks to you and everyone else for your nice responses. You have made me a lot less worried.

And yes I have timezones all set. My only worry was that I will only have about the first 30 minutes of the priority one window to register, before boarding the plane. So any Ticketek meltdowns would be a disaster. I'll make sure I have a mate back in Aus that can do it as a backup though.

I'm in the same boat too. I did notice yesterday you only have 3.5 mins to log in and your fifteen min window doesn't start until you are ready to buy tickets. That's bullshit
