People are already dying in Victoria. As a result of covid there are record numbers of calls to 000 which is overloading the system. Two people have died after their calls were not answered after 5 minutes. Average wait time for ambulances sitting at hospitals is 2 hours before they can be back out on the road again.

Can't imagine the situation is much different in NSW.

You see, this is where I disagree. Being actively involved in the Catholic Church (and the associated financial contribution to the organisation) is an endorsement of the centuries of child abuse which the Church knows about yet does almost nothing to put an end to. And let's not gloss over the fact that this involves literally thousands of priests and tens of thousands of victims. It is systematic. This is what Perrottet (and Pell for that matter, guilty or not of the specific charges against him) stands for.

Mine is a personal defence of Perrotet for unfair criticism of his religious beliefs. Its opportune criticism for political purposes. You dont see the new NSW Opposition leader being tarred with the same brush, which exposes the 'pile on' merchants.

Note my criticism is not personal, your view is at odds with mine & I'm happy for you to hold it. As I said before the Catholic Church as an institution has to wear the reality of its failures just like any other institution.

I'm aware of the healthcare perspective. I have a particular sister who sees it as her duty to ram that particular perspective home to me at every opportunity.

I'm just also aware that there are other perspectives, and I am suspicious of "scientific modelling" which always seems to overstate catastrophic consequences when viewed in hindsight.
