Some nervy moments but we got the points which is the main thing!

Thought Theo was lively and Verm was a rock down back.

That overated bloke was okay too, 30 goals this calendar year....don't know what the fuss is about tbh

He does nothing apart from average a goal a game, and create goals for teammates.
Yeah it's shocking isn't it 31 goals in 29 games his 2nd goal was a neat finish such a hack...

Walcott and Gervinho played well

Mertesacker with a typical Arsenal blunder in defence it was a typical Gunners game play well get a bazillion shots on goal and the game is still in jeopardy the whole way through

Yeah, I suggest you stop embarrassing yourself.

Another wonderful contribution. You're obviously not very intellectual considering you can't come up with a genuine response.

Overrated in the sense that all he does is score tap-ins, yeah?

Didn't say he only scores tap-ins, it's just that 4 of his last 5 goals were incredibly simple finishes (notably his first against Chelsea) and yet he's constantly being praised as god's gift.

For the record, I think he's a great player, I just think players like Dzeko, Rooney, Villa etc are better, contrary to most peoples' belief.

If we're being serious ... it's to be expected that a player gets talked up so much when they're in such red hot form. But he is on track to break league records ATM.

What about Rooney's start to the season? Some were rating him as high as Messi.

Like I said, he's a great player, I just think he's overrated because most of his goals were very simple finishes and everyone is focusing exclusively on the statistics. A lot of the hard work is usually already done for him (again, his first against Chelsea is a good example), and to go with that, he also fluffs a lot of chances most strikers would usually bury. I think Gervinho, Arteta, Ramsey etc deserve just as much credit as him for Arsenal's great run of form.

As for Rooney, have you seen his highlight reel this season? Most of his goals were spectacular. But with that said, he's still a level below Messi.

Why on Earth isn't Palacios starting for Stoke? I know they love Delap's throws, but surely he's better than Glenn Whelan.

Newcastle finally given a lesson. Could have easily lost by more had Silva started.

How unlucky are Wolves? Lost because of a ridiculously soft penalty. Going to be hard for them to stay up this season.

Got a soft one in the 1st half. Also Cahill probably should have got one just before half time

Pretty happy with our match, I thought we were by far the better team but the Geordies battled hard and created a few chances that could have seen them finish up with a point.

Very happy with Clichy's match, he continues to impress me. Good to see De Jong back to full fitness and playing as we know he can.

As for RVP, I think he is overrated at the moment. But he's playing exceptionally well at the moment and is carrying Arsenal, something I wasn't sure he was capable of. I'm happy that Arsenal have turned things around, credit to Wenger for that, and Van Persie for his contribution.

Still has the most smackable face in football though.

I should add that Milner is making me seriously reconsider long held opinions as to his ability as a footballer, and his value as a signing. Has been absolute quality for us for a good few months now.

Van Persie, Walcott and Gervinho look exceptionally dangerous.

Especially the wingers. Some of Walcott's touches are fantastic, just haven't been able to hit that last pass.

Norwich fought back after the equaliser, but still looks like Arsenal should win from here.

Go Swansea <3
walcott 'just hasn't been able to hit that pass' his whole career.
it's why he's a good (just an upgraded aaron lennon) player but never to be a great one.

rooney still has about 12 early season goals from the penalty spot.

Gareth Bale is irrelevant you muppet. I was saying he's overrated because 4 of his last 5 goals have been ridiculously easy finishes while people like you are putting him up there with the best players in the world. There are a number of strikers I'd still take over him.

About time Manchester City give Newcastle a reality check. Hope they win 5-0.

The media would be wanking over anybody in that form, and rightly so imo.

So does that make van Nistelrooy overrated in his heyday? I remember him scoring about 3 goals outside the box, if that. The guy was a poaching specialist. RvP has more in his locker than RvN as well (RvN a better finisher though). And look at Ronaldo in Spain, most of his goals aren't that great.

There is no striker on better form than RvP at the moment. How he missed the boat for Balon d'Or is beyond comprehension.

Yeah, Newcastle will start dropping down the table, they've got a very tough run coming up.

His second goal vs Norwich was not easy ftr.

Villa is finished now I think. Granted, in his prime he was a brilliant forward. Absolutely lethal.

Between RvP, Rooney and Dzeko, you wouldn't complain with any of them.

Without him we are ****ed.

10 minutes into the Norwich/Arsenal game, staggering how Arsenal aren't ahead yet.

Why is Grant Holt on the bench? Every time I've seen him play for Norwich, he looks like a quality hold up striker, whereas Steve Morison looks like a typical championship striker.

This is even dumber then your RVP is overrated crap. Morrison has been fantastic this season and well worthy of starting over Holt. A very good hold up striker in the Bobby Zamora mould. Invaluable so far for his team

yes that schwarzer save was massive. he was going the other way but did well to kick his legs out after the deflection

as for RvP, i think you will find no one is really trying to elevate him into 'god's gift' category. simply calling it like it is - he is in superb touch and in career best form. i dont care where he ranks amongst the top strikers in the world, all i really care about is him staying fit and injury free as his results speak for themselves. to suggest he's just a tap in specialist and the most overrated player in the league is ridiculous.

the best forward in the world? ridiculous, of course not.

a quality premier league forward? most certainly yes

so why not just leave it at that :thumbsu:

At this very point in time id say Arsenal is the 2nd best performing team in the league so I have 3 in the underrated category

Gervinho for mine will be one of the best wide players in the league once he works on his final product. A deadset gun. I remember GrandBlue saying he was overrated and that Eden Hazard was the only good thing to come out of Lille. Ah how wrong he was

Id also say Alex Song is underrated. Do you recognise his passing talents now Cruyff14? Fantastic passer of the ball this season. Id have him in the top 5 DCM in the world atm

Third for mine would be Aaron Ramsay. Doing very well for a inexperienced CM. Was very overrated to begin with IMO. People were talking him up when he wasnt doing anything. Now he is performing no one is talking about him for some reason...

In fairness to Rooney, he's spent the last month playing deeper. We look much better when he sits in the hole and Hernandez plays in front of him, and he ran the show against Swansea. Unfortunately, he is prone to going on hot scoring streaks so when he stops scoring, the rest of his game isn't acknowledged nearly enough.
