Not everyone's extremely negative after losses. After that Saints game I couldn't believe the overreactions of so many people, so I posted the following, which was in response to a post by Dog Days, expressing effectively the same sentiment:I rarely post in here - but constantly reading in here all the time. Not sure if this has already been posted, but it's interesting to look back at the autopsy thread after round 18 when Mitch & Red went down. I remember looking at this at the time & after a few pages I had to stop reading the depressing posts that had so many over-reactions in it - especially talking about just forgetting about finals this year & save ourselves for next year. Shows that we should have never underestimated this wonderful fighting team. Western Bulldogs I love you forever!

"I agree. The dogs have overcome injuries to win games all year. I don't know why everyone's being so negative now, saying the season's over, etc. And I'd thought the same thing as you, more or less. I think that they need to start playing a more traditional game style: bring Will in to play a traditional ruck role, play Tom Boyd deep full forward (which is where he's best at this stage anyway), and hopefully get Stringer back to play a centre half forward role, and then, who knows. Imagine if they manage to go all the way this year with all of their injuries. It would be one of the greatest (if not the greatest) premierships of all time.
Anyway, I'm impressed with how well they've already gone given the injuries they've had, and no one can possibly say that the Bulldogs lack depth."
Dog Days mentioned bringing Will Minson back in too (and what I mentioned re: Boyd didn't happen either), so it didn't pan out like that, but neither of us could understand everybody writing off the year when all year they'd been overcoming injuries.
And, voilà. In the end they won the premiership, and it probably was one of the best and hardest earnt premierships of all time.
