That is one of the best things about the premiership win for me - great warriors like Morris, M Boyd and Picken have got their just rewards for a decade of outstanding service and effort. Others like Grant, Johnson, Smith, West etc missed out but at least the current heart and soul players get the accolades now.

At least Smith and Gia were involved as coaching staff.

I haven't put my thoughts down yet on this most amazing month of football finals. I have grappled unsuccessfully on how to put a couple of neat, succinct paragraphs together which expresses the joy, the awe, the amazement and the mixture of emotion from those four finals.

Like others I have to pinch myself, to believe we are the premiers. I am still reading articles, and re-watching the games. I cry when I think of Moz getting his medal, I swell up with pride on Toyd's "FU All" game, I get angry again thinking of the behaviour of those GWS players, I feel very smug talking to Geelong supporters.

My grand final was in Sydney, those final minutes of that game were torture, no one knew how long we had when we drew level and then lead by a solitary point. I had witnessed three losing PF, but they all paled into insignificance against the sheer terror I felt at losing to GWS. It was a good v evil game for me.

I can't wait for the footy to start, but I have a sense of peace now, whether we have a bad year, or stuff up our drafting, it's ok we have won a Premiership, and not just a premiership, a feat unequalled by any other team and probably will remain unequalled forever.

A week ago I had the opportunity to thank Bevo for ending our drought, and that i had waited nearly 50 years to see a Grand Final victory. His response, "It was a team effort."
Dunno about everyone else, but I'm yet to hear the bloke pump up his own tyres even a little bit. Always deflects the glory onto other people. God knows he's earnt it but it's obviously not the way he is. Will always be seen as a god at the Doggies now.

Couldn't agree more. That GWS game was something else.

Honestly it's the only explanation I can offer as to how we actually won the flag this year, for me it comes down to the coach, I'm still clueless as to how they actually did it.

Zaine Cordy had some very important moments throughout the finals series. (Rewatching the lot for the millionth time)

He needs to play every game next season. Really excited about what he could eventually become.

Loved that bit in the PF when Zaine was being roughed up by tough guy Phil Davis and literally seconds later he kicked that goal from Bont's hand pass.

For most of that last Qtr against GWS I had to keep going out the back to relive the tension and found there were quite a few of us doing the same. When Mccrae kicked the goal I raced back out to tell them all that we kicked it and were going to win, I might have been a bit hasty but those last few minutes will live on in my memory for a long time!!! The primal screaming and joy when that siren went and the atmosphere back at the Novotel bar was incredible.

Loved him from the first time I saw him.
But had no idea he could have had that much impact so soon.
He was terrific during the finals campaign.

What I want to know is who was that guy that was featured prominently on screen after Picken kicked the sealer. He was in tears and smiling in relief. He'll be part of many replays of that iconic moment :)

You referring to the guy who smiles, has a tear in the eye and then hugs his family?

Agree that was brilliant
