I used to have dreams of lifts ... flying or falling...past few years of trains ... I'm on them with friends and/or family (that are alive or dead) or I miss the train

The only recurring dream I can recall atm, (I know that I have at least 3 just can't remember them right now), is where I will fall from extremely high places, such as the top of cliffs, sky scrapers, etc. and hit the ground, but survive and not be hurt...

And to add, these aren't those dreams where you wake up startled where it felt like you were falling, I actually don't wake up from these dreams, and I'm no longer worried because I know I will survive the fall the next time this dream comes along

???

A few times i swear I've had dreams about situations or conversations.
Then a few months later it happens and I get deja vu hella bad.

I used to have these ... freaks you out hey?

.. not so much lately

Deja vu ...

I dreamt I got a bag out of the boot of a silver sedan in my driveway ... at the time I owned a green magna wagon ... id seen a silver magna sedan at a local car yard. A month later i crashed the wagon ... write-off ... insurance payout was enuf to purchase that silver magna

In relation to the thread title, I have only had one instance where I felt that something I had dreamt would definitely come true. It was when I was 13 in 1982, and I woke up one day in July feeling extremely confident that Fitzroy were going to beat Collingwood that weekend. I told one or two mates at school, but I didn't make a huge thing out of it. I did not know what the scores would be or the margin, but something was telling me that there was no way Fitzroy would lose this particular game. The Lions ended up winning by 20 points (round 16, 1982).
On another occasion in 1985, I had a dream that singer Matt Monro had died. The next morning when I woke up I heard on the morning news that he was dead, and for a few seconds I wondered whether I had played some part in his demise.
the only other thing I can claim is that one night in about 1993 I had a dream wherein I had a needle in my lower leg, and when I woke up I could feel a minor pain (very minor) in my leg. Nothing that made me hobble or restricted my movement, just an odd coincidence.

I've had recurring dreams at various stages. The most common was that I could jump, as in long jump, and get to a stage where I didn't need to land so could float in the sky or fly. I've also had the teeth falling out dream a few times.

The dream I mainly have these days is that I find myself playing golf but never get to hit the ball. I'll be standing there lined up and the ball will fall off the tee and it takes ages to get the ball to stay on the tee. When I can finally get it to stay I decide I have the wrong club and keep selecting clubs but can't find the right one or the head falls off so I then have to pick another club. Whatever it is, I never get to hit the ball.

The theme of most of my dreams is that whatever I'm doing never reaches its conclusion.
Ive also had the long jump/flying dream, but not for a while now.

Another was chewing bubble gum, but not being able to remove it..the more I pulled it out of my mouth, the more it would build up in my mouth.

My most common recurring dream is Im back in High School (especially year 12), and I still dream that fairly regularly.

Been having a lot of vivid dreams lately.
A couple times had a recurring dream about a haunted house, one sorta like this really rundown, dark with cobwebs.

Got the feeling something really evil lived there.

Last night I had a weird dream about how my house had spirits talking to us.
Then I went outside and it was very windy and I saw a little Cessna plane in the sky and the pilot seemed to be having trouble controlling it.
Eventually he lost control due to the bad weather and the plane crashed and exploded in some bushland near my house.
The fire spread into my yard but I managed to extinguish it and I remember hearing that pilot ejected before impact.

Lol weird do you guys think dreams mean anything?

The pilot is coming for you in the next dream I can guarantee it

I grew up playing golf fairly regularly since primary school, to the point where I joined a private golf club and played at least once a week, so it was a big part of my life (although I've never been a 'golf tragic'). I became ill in 2011 and haven't played golf since so that might explain my golf dreams where I never get to hit the ball. I had some work done on my shoulder in 2011 as well and that shoulder was always a problem in my swing so maybe the fact that I haven't been able to test it playing golf is the reason I don't get to hit the ball, I dunno but it sounds reasonable. The flying dream is supposed to mean something but I can't remember what it is and apparently is quite common. I have no idea what your own dream might mean and maybe it's something to do with something that's happened in your life.

2 frequentl themes in my dreams are flying, and being in a fight (be it pretend, sporting, or real/street) and having a guy on the ropes but never having enough knockout power to finish the job, like my arms turn to spaghetti after I wind up for a big hook.

I have recurring dreams all the time and many times i have fallen from a great height and hit the ground which has instantly woken me, but that thud and the feeling of hitting the ground is always the same and never pleasant. It is almost like in a past life this was the way i was killed and because i work today in construction and always work at heights it is like i know what it will feel like to fall and impact the ground for that split second due to some dreams. You can only hope it is not premonition i guess......

Others are nakedness and i get caught out in public places totally stark naked and helpless! Then i have ones of my teeth falling out with the slightest touch etc and i wake up checking them and these are terrible and scary.

The other one that is always recurring probably the most is lightning and i mean massive fork lightning that is just everywhere ( and extremely wide bolts not skinny ones in the distance ) causing fires and blowing up stuff whenever it strikes as it is always hitting the ground or an object in which i am in its path with panic everywhere from those around me like it has been sent to actually harm us from the gods above.

Dreams are just weird.

Check that your electric blanket isn't shorting out. You're laying in bed, naked, and all these sparks are flying which makes you fall out of bed, snapping a tooth as you hit the floor.

**** a duck! I'd never want to go to sleep! What else, do you dream of a guy in a red and black hooped top with a claw for a hand chasing you around a boiler room?

I occasionally fall making a big thud as I hit the pillow just as I have fallen asleep. However, you have real problems Chism! :)

A recurring dream for me is being informed that due to some administrative error I have to go back to uni to complete a subject that supposedly I failed but was recorded as a pass at the time.
I occasionally have a dream where there isn't enough room to tee off when I am playing golf. No matter where I go on the Tee box it is too close to the fence or trees behind me. I reckon it has a bit to do with the fact that I can sometimes be a nervous starter early on in my rounds. Mostly when playing golf with strangers!

Not the 1st time i have been told that!!

Strange how it all happened when i started modding this place.

I have had a recurring dream remarkably like that.

Im pretty sure if you are having flying dreams it means that you have conquered life to an extent and have it 'all under control' so to say.

It's as if you have risen above life - 'flying'

Definitely not the case for me...

Had a dream last night about my 4yo daughter was swinging on the swingset and going impossibly high on it and I couldn't reach her...
Scary stuff

If that is true, what you are saying, then in order for someone to see a future incident, there's a good chance that it must have previously occurred at some point in time. Are we reliving something over and over again, perhaps thousands of times?

Or time is not linear?
