Personal Experience Premonitions in dreams

I have 2 recurring dreams.

1. The first is about not being able to take the next step when I am walking.
Its almost as if my legs are weighed down and to lift them or even slide them forward is a very hard thing to do...but I do it and struggle on. I feel people looking at me as they either pass me of approach me.

I have that one as well as another one where I'm in danger or in a fight and trying to punch someone but my punches are extremely weak with no effect, like I'm punching through treacle. Very frustrating and scary (in the dream).

Another recurring dream I had as a kid (can't remember if I've had it as an adult though I'm sure I have once or twice) is being in the backseat of my parents car in the driveway waiting for them with the car on. Then while I'm waiting the car would start driving itself down the road - the dream would always stop at the same point, once I'd reached the roundabout around the corner from my house.

Ok you're weird.

I had a premonition dream as a kid. Was on a roadtrip with the parents during school holidays, I was 10/11, & we'd stopped in Bega for the night. Had a dream that night that I'd caught up with my school mates but they were upset as Marvin Gaye had been murdered. Marvin wasn't really on my radar back then, not sure if I'd ever heard of him.
Woke up the next day & a bit later a lady who dropped our breakfast off told us Marvin Gaye had been murdered, by his father it turned out. There was no radio on in the room overnight, Mum wouldn't tolerate sound in hotel rooms. Told my parents but they dismissed it. Never could explain this.

A big thing for me is getting to a point in the dream when I realise its a dream, that I'm in control... and then completely losing control and not being able to do anything, becoming a bystander in whatever is happening around me, then waking up eventually on that note.

As I wrote a long time ago, I have similar, but it is only the last punch that has no power and is weak, like I'm failing at the last hurdle.

I've had the cant throw a punch thing happen in my dreams a bit too but more common for me is i cant throw a ball properly haha its weird ill be playing cricket and im in the field and the ball its hit to me in the outfield and its like im throwing with my oppoisite arm the ball will go about 10 metres in front of me and i have to run after it get it again to throw it in to the keeper, then i get all dream embarassed and feel like a pleb.

Also flying is quite common for me im still standing vertical but by flapping my arms slowly i can take off and float around, im never up high usually no more than 20-30 metres it seems.

Also another pearler is going out in public (quite often my old primary school) with no pants on.

I always wake up when I realise it's a dream. A few times I've been able to control it for a few minutes, but I guess I'm not talented enough yet

I sometimes have one where I can't run. It's like my legs can only move in slow motion compared to the rest of the universe. Very annoying

I might be trying to get away from something or catch something and I get very frustrated

The two most interesting ones I know of have not happened to me, but people I know.

1) A very close family friend had a dream that she found a diamond (or gold, cant remember) ring in a specific spot at work. She didn't think anything of it until at some stage within the next few days she heard that a customer had lost a ring. Low and behold, she remembered the dream, went to that location and found it.

2) My mum had a dream that when she was little that my grandmother lost car keys which the family then found at (location x). When she woke up her mother was running around the house looking for car keys and was late for an appointment of some sort. My mum said 'they are in location x' to which my grandmother found them, but then beat the **** out of my mum cause she thought she had taken them and hid them.

I wasn't going to post this, but then remembered its a forum so nuts to that as nobody knows who I am.

The same person as story 1 (quoted above) has a knack for these things. I don't beleive in physics, ghosts etc but there is something about this woman. She always seems to be one step ahead and always has 'feelings' which then tend to come to fruition.

The other big story is a dream she had where her husband was meeting a man who was very distinctive. She had the dream a few times so decided to tell her husband. She got half way through describing the man she kept seeing in some dreams over the previous few weeks, before the husband interjected with 'Thats my childhood doctor you are describing.'

She pleaded for him to see a doctor as she then thought something was wrong, but he was fighting fit. After a few weeks of nagging he finally went to see a doctor, just to prove a point. After a general health check-up etc, he found out he had cancer.

Unfortunately, it was a very aggressive cancer and he passed away within about 6-12 months. I was only 10 or so at the time and was best friends with their son, and he lived with us for about 4 weeks towards the end as the father wanted to be at home.

Humans genuinely do have psychic abilities I believe. So many stories like that you hear that it can't be down to just coincidence.

We just haven't figured out how to fully use our brains as a whole. Some people who claim to be psychics are on the right path but still probably aren't fully there for the most part.

i know this isnt on the same level as some of the other stories posted, but my wife has said a couple of quirky things that have happened.

the one that stands out for me, is we were in line at the cinema to buy movie tickets with another friend, just chatting about random everyday stuff while we waited. My wife then looked up at the 40 or 50 plasma screens they have linked together that are playing a movie promo and said something like "wouldnt it be funny if all those screens just shut off"

sure enough, no more than 10 seconds later the entire cinema lost power.

as i said, not as freaky as some other stories, but still pretty weird.

And then all the high school kids poured pigs blood on her?

I have a few strange recurring dreams

1. Broken/fallen out teeth
2. Ground is littered with snakes
3. The most frequent one I get is that I'm running towards something/away from something/racing something or someone and for some reason I'm running in slow-mo, which is strange because I'm generally pretty quick, but it's so frustrating. I run at literally snail pace. I can't work out why I have so many dreams like this.

Anyone know the meaning to these?

2 frequentl themes in my dreams are flying, and being in a fight (be it pretend, sporting, or real/street) and having a guy on the ropes but never having enough knockout power to finish the job, like my arms turn to spaghetti after I wind up for a big hook.
Oh I have this one too. Forgot about this lol. It's just as annoying as the slow running dream.

Now you mention the snakes they are in some of my dreams too, ive never been bitten from memory but they're bloody everywhere and im constantly shitting myself trying to avoid the slippery little suckers.

Its so cool being able remember your dreams, i basically have the same dream every night that's been a re occurring for years now. By same dream i mean im in the same places which is some coastal town/city which my brain has formed from suburbs ive lived and placed i've frequented over my life, and alot of the same people pop up, Mainly friends, workmates and random people i went to school with.

I also tend to do the same things in my dreams, Fishing and lots of it, Flying/floating in air Running away from people and hiding, exploring the bush, theres also a huge market there which i always have trouble finding but end up getting there after asking people, its kind of like the Melbourne market but smaller. The market part might have something to do with the last 2 times ive been to Melbourne i really wanted to go to the market but didn't end up going there so that might explain that and i do love fishing although i don't go as much as i used to but i wouldn't have a clue why i dream about most of the other shit i dream about.

Dreams have always intrigued me, i hope that down the track we get some scientific evidence on what how our dreams work, what they mean e.t.c

Final destination movies are good value and based on premonitions. For me personally, i rarely remember my dreams. I would say I don't dream but apparently everyone does, just not everyone remembers them.

I occasionally have a dream where there isn't enough room to tee off when I am playing golf. No matter where I go on the Tee box it is too close to the fence or trees behind me. I reckon it has a bit to do with the fact that I can sometimes be a nervous starter early on in my rounds. Mostly when playing golf with strangers!

lol...so funny, I have the same golf dreams, just not allowed to tee off where there is always something in the way, or the ball wont stay on the tee, or suddenly something is restricting my backswing, or i have to run back to the car park to get a ball or club ive forgotten and its usually in a big tournament on the 1st tee like in the Masters etc ....**** its frustrating but makes me laugh when I wake up.

A sad premonition I had was about my dad, he was fit and had no signs of deterioration other than being in his 70s (but he could run and was more active and fitter than all his mates) anyhow I woke up one night with tears running down my face after he told me that he was going to die, later that week he was diagnosed with cancer and passed away about 18 months later.

My wife actually had another one yesterday.

while she was getting ready for work in the morning she had a thought come over her that something bad was going to happen that day, and she kept picturing the colour red.

she went to work, told her work mates what she had thought in the morning and left it at that.

at 5:00pm we get a phone call that her dad has been taken to hospital in an ambulance with a massive cut on his head after a metal block fell and hit him at work, blood everywhere. (he is ok now FYI)

Another one I've had several times (that I remember) is where I'm on the run from the cops after doing something horrible (usually I've killed someone). I don't dream/remember dreaming about the actual deed just the follow up where I know I'm ****ed it's just a matter of time. Sometimes noone knows about it and it's like I've gotten away with the murder but I have an ominous sense of foreboding that it doesn't matter, I'll be found out and arrested anyway.
