Jesus you guys have memories like goldfish - he was our best player in the loss to St Kilda in the final last year.

hopefully Wood will be fit to to play Round one , Some with Treloar he has a date with his old club and I want to see him tear them a new one

Everyone has their price. Dunkley was 2 first rounders as a top tier mid. I wouldn’t pay that for Hayes but I would certainly sit in his managers office all year to try to get Port to the negociation table next year. You just never know what might entice Port to consider it but there is nearly always a way. We were adamant on Dunkley but 2 first rounders would have seen him don the sash in 2021 and I’d be renamed Donut Dunkley or similar by now 👍

Another caution: don't live where I live in Sydney. Inner West is very prone to samurai sword attacks. Both attacks within a couple of Kms from my place.

I saw the body on the road under a cover two blocks away from my place in this earlier case.

I don’t think people are saying he’s 100% finished, more that games like the St Kilda game have been a little thin on the ground in recent seasons.

And Wallis is slow, short for a footballer, can't kick too far and barely gets off the ground... yet he wa sour most effective forward last year.

Cordy has natural aggression and football instincts. They tend to beat pure athletes.
Ryan Gardner does have ticker though - meticulous trainer and was a DFA and a rookie (the types we used to celebrate). I just hope he can learn the nuances of the game because right now that is what he lacks. Composure should come in time.

Fair enough but just remember - It's nigh on impossible for backmen to impress the layman. Their mistakes are amplified more than any other position on the ground and when they play a great game you are likely to hardly notice them. I feel a lot better with Wood in the team.

edit - a few years back I was able to order them with the numbers, not sure why they removed that option though. Got Libba 21 around 2014/15 (got him to sign it at a WA open training session :D ) and got a Bont 4 in 2017 with the gold premiership badge

Gardner more and more reminds me of Mark Bolton ex Bombre. He ended up playing 124 games. Fast , skinny and a bit of a battler who improved over time. Fingers crossed.

Wood is not quite cooked but he's getting a nice char on him. dropping too many marks and losing his feet too often.

im waiting for Bevo's inevitable early season selections of the track flyers who arent best 22 (Hayes, Gardner etc), a mediocre start to the season, then start picking best 22 in the second half of the season to make a run into the bottom half of the 8, rinse/repeat, always repeat.

in fact if Hayes plays round 1 i'll spew up.
