Wasn't sure where to put this, but some interesting stats to note from 2024.

Will be interesting to see what bearing our stylistic change has on certain stats. We didn't have a player in the top 35 for handball receives last season.

The “nimrods” who have observed him at training? Pretty obvious from photos too

Yep ‘pretty obvious’ based on nothing besides he looked a bit tubby to some onlookers in December. Never mind that he may have actually improved across his actual measured performance markers of which there are many and you have no information to the contrary to put forward.

May have been in a deliberate size / strength block in the offseason because he is a rare 19yr old that has the traits to dominate in the middle in his second season - and it’d be handy to get him closer on physical terms to the game’s best?

But yep, you can categorically say he’s just come back ‘unfit’ - again gtfo

See! We agree.

Not going to get into a whole thing here, I’m a big Harley fan and the stuff he did for a first-year player was ridiculous. He also wouldn’t be the first young player to show up after his first off-season in less than ideal condition. If it turns out he has improved his tank I’ll be stoked for him

not the least Harley showing up unfit

No we don’t, and you are still stating it as fact based on appearance alone. I’ll back him in and you can hold applause until he proves to you otherwise that he’s improved his tank. Part time supporter vibes DumDick

The main takeaway for me

The West understands Ryan had not been drinking and was leaving the event with his partner when the altercation broke out, with the footballer believed to have claimed he felt his partner was under threat before violence escalated.

Doesn’t sound like he did much wrong. Could argue he should’ve had the good sense to simply walk away but difficult to say that without being there

4 examples out of about 1000 drafted after pick 40 since hird.

Do people not understand statistics?

Do you understand what the word never means?

And I could keep going with examples of very good players selected in the 40's or later.. How many would be enough?

Just watch. The "investigation" wont conclude until after the indigenous all stars game.

Then the AFL will decide what penalty if any is required.

He should have got in his car and driven away. Shaping up for fisty-cuffs was pretty reckless. Seems like he knew the guy and they agreed to "duke it out" otherwise you'd imagine it would have been more of a brawl (why did his mates not jump in?). Pretty immature for a guy in his late 20s.

I am going to slightly disagree. That’s what you would have liked to have him done to avoid having to deal with an article. To many, it’s all “trivial”.

Thing is he would have been in a 100 situations where he actually did walk away and we call him immature for not this time.

If Ryan was defending his own, then he has my support. I know it’s inconvenient for the fan base but it’s clear issue wasn’t trivial.

I don't really know how to word this but I don't think the cultural differences can be overlooked.

Indigenous people have their own punishments for various things, and Liam would have grown up with that through his formative years. It would be second nature for him to agree to a dust up with someone who might have been mouthing off or threatening he or his partner.

There was nothing untoward in regards to other people jumping in, cheap shots, hitting or kicking someone on the ground etc. All seems pretty above board.

He also had commitments the following day for the All Stars game and wisely chose not to drink even though he promoted and attended the event. Who knows how much shit he put up with the entire festival listening to someone gob off trying to wind him up.

A lot of assuming going on in this post maybe we should just wait for the investigation to conclude before offering an opinion on something you did not witness?
