Not if The Age's best Swans side doesn't include LRT, Malceski and Nick Smith.

I would have thought so, they've got big wraps on him. But my opinion changed after talking to Blakey for the preview last week. In terms of Parker and also Jed Lamb it didn't seem like there was much chance of either playing in the early stages of the season unless something drastically changes.
However he did say both would see senior action this year

Swans only play two teams that finished above them in the first 13 rounds. What are the chances of a 11-2 start?

Haha. Collingwood aside I can't see anyone being 11-2, the competition is just so close, teams are bound to drop games here and there!

Melbourne is a big game to start. They got flogged in that fixture at the G last year and I know they're keen to make amends for that. Essendon has gone up there and won lately (I know they did last year, pretty sure they might have a year or two before as well). So that's not a lay down. West Coast in Perth, they'd be favourites, but it is away from home. Geelong at the SCG will be tough. You'd like to think they'd beat the bye and also Carlton at home

If they can be 3-2 plus the bye after 6 rounds I reckon they'd be happy

I spoke to Swans fitness Bryce Cavanagh, and he said Craig Bolton almost retired over Xmas 2010, if he wasnt sitting on 199 games I think he would have. Not a good sign.

Hmm. May be quite a story over the year if he can't get himself right. Would be sad to see

Perhaps we shouldn't be too harsh on the papers if the Swans media department is prone to mistakes as well

I think the saddest news there is that Mumford has moved out of the Sumner/Jetta/Heath household.
Poor Nick Smith. Bevo in the side ahead of him.
Man, that guy flies under the radar.
Certainly does in regards to the football public. I would expect that plenty of opposition coaches now know a bit more about Smith...
Hope to see some midfield action from Smith this year. Big wraps, future captain material.
I bet if i went onto the main board and asked opposition supporters if they knew who Nick Smith was most of them wouldn't have a clue.
As a tagger that is exactly what you want though because if your name isn't being mentioned then odds are the person you are playing on isn't being mentioned either.
Sounds like it's going to be a repeat of last season, the so-called week-to-week proposition which actually turned out to be week after week of 'hoping to play' turning into 'another week off'
I just wish the club would be honest with us. Our players surely cannot have this many "unforseen" setbacks that cause them to miss more weeks than first expected.
Check out Dan Hannebery's profile on the HS site. Don't look at his first - click on handful of others and you get a feel for the comments they write about them. Brief but moderately informative for the younger players, including the brand new rookie listed players; a little more expansive for a star like Goodes.
And then check what they say about Hanners...talk about understated!
Link??
From the Swans Cocktail Party in Melbourne last night.
Craig Bolton - Has been running freely for the last 3 weeks but not yet involved in group practice. The club, at this stage are positive about a return a few rounds in. Andrew Ireland said Craig is a realistic person and that if he wasn't sure he was on the right track would have retired by now.
Hi I have been away for a while, the above is pretty accurate. He has been running heaps and is super fit. He original problem with the archilles is all but right but he has developed some tendonitis on a tendon which is located on the top of the foot, it runs from below the knee. Not sure of its name maybe extensor?? Anywat this causes problems with quick direction changes not straight running. He is very hopefull of a return round 2 or 3. Yes he agonised over retirment last year but has decided to continue.
