Yes - in 2002 you'll lose the Grand Final to BL by 10 points! :p ;)

Why does everyone believe the Hawks have the 2002 Premiership in the bag?

Maybe they found the right person to spend their $1 million profit on?

In an entirely unrelated matter, I hear umpires are going to be paid a lot more this season. ;)

I don't. I think we'll make the Grand Final, and probably lose. 2003 is our year, and maybe 2004.

The Hitman

Hawthorn This year ???

Will the Hawks make thr GF this year???????????

I hope so, but do you really thick so????

What happens if big Jonny Hay or stick man Rawlings goes down???
No more Croad to back up?? he was **** in this role last year anway!!!!!!!

Watch for big Robert Campbell this year. I reckon he is the best 19 year old ruckman going round.

I would appreciate correspondance on this

Better than Drew Petrie (Kangaroos), Cain Ackland (Port) or Josh Fraser (Collingwood)?

Fraser is not a ruckman. He is a CHF / CHB / rover / wing / flanker.

Confidence with a capital H

I undertand how you could querie my judgements - about us getting ravaged with injuries (chicky17) - but this could also happen just as easily to other powerful teams such as essendon or brisbane. so think optimistically about your team not pesimistically and think 'but what if...... - i rather think that we would go well than think on uncertain terms of "what if we get injured" - hawkstaf

oh yeah and the Hawks - should make the Grand Final, depends on how their injuries go, depends on Crawf/Chick firing. Looking forward to beating them in the 03 Grannie.

I love your optimism there. You guys haven't even made the finals yet, and you're only 2 seasons away from a GF win??

:p :p :p

Good to see you having confidence Hawkstaf, but probably wouldn't post it on this board if I were you, the other supporters will just try and come up with arguments to why we won't make the grand final etc.

Maybe keep it to the Hawthorn board... but good on ya mate, great to see confidence in the fans.

Cheers

Never! EVER! Joke about Rawlings being injured. I can't take him being out of games this year! It was hard enough last year!

And Johnny Hay too. Without these men, we're in trouble! (Well, at least our tall backline)

Well, my bet was for 2001. I wasn't far off, but I'm not willing to make any guesses until the season starts. Some team may just surprise us! :)

baytec - whatajoke

Keep ur opinions to urself jubjub, and by da way - BAYTEC STADIUM - (if u could call it a stuadium) IS A WASTE OF SPACE COMPARED TO THE GOOD OLD WAVERLY PARK MATE

Your centreline/ruck setup is still c rap. Rehn has had it and you do not have anyone to backup Crawford and Chick. By getting rid of Croad you have got rid of one of your tall options either exposing your forward line or backline. Your centreline recruits will have little impact this year, if at all it will be early on and by finals they will be shot anyway.

I would suggest a grandfinal berth would be extremely optimistic given the depth of Brisbane and Essendon. You may be lucky and they play each other in the same half but I would suspect they will win enough games to finish 1 and 2. And there you will be stuffed.

excuse me......
