As an aside to the rosy bashing. Can't remember who the poster was back in the day but someone with an eagle eye on punt road end noticed that biffinator was posting on the board under the alias of tigerclaw. He called bullshit on tigerclaw and managed to get him banned, biff never quite recovered after that, he promised us that he'd be back bigger than ever but I think our flag this year put the death nail in every troll account he ever had including his primary one here. The campaigner barely posts.

That was me. Surprised anyone would remember that!

He told me to keep an eye out for what the next stage might have been, but I never noticed anything. I do know he tried something but slipped up instantly.

I PM'ed him about 6 months ago asking, but he never responded.

Yeah that's me, you've got a fair memory considering that was 6 years ago.

He signed up under a different name about a week later and immediately looked up that thread.

Clearly enjoys his work a bit ol' Biff, but he made a mistake there.

Rosy doesn't practice what she preaches - the level of hypocrisy is hard to believe. As others have said, she also plays the victim to the nth degree. There are good posters on there (eg "Sintiger') and there are appalling posters on there (eg Zippadee), just like all sites.

I remember just being impressed with your observation skills... It wasn't long after that though that I left PRE, similar stories to the ones that are being told. Small run in with Rosy and so I packed up and came here.

If serious that is nuts. PRE was/is OK. But not a patch on BF.

If the club wanted an official site it'd start one itself and would be huge. But places like BF are already established and do the job.

By the by, the RFC would never try to run a forum like this or PRO. Way too much moderation would be involved to sanitise (given it would be the 'Official RFC Forum') and that would make it unappealing for most posters. Best for the club to stay engaged and to review these forums but to stay at arms length.

Would end up being a rod for the club's own back. This type of forum unites people, but also unites them in their grievances. Would become another problem for the club to deal with when things aren't going well.

Works well enough sitting apart. I'm sure the club monitors these things loosely to gather feedback.

Many years ago when ads first started appearing on Dead End Road, in one of my many battles with her, I asked her what revenue was being generated with them, what proprietary interest did she have in the site etc. etc. It was on the basis of a larger issue in understanding her management aims of the site and what she was trying to develop and what sort of posters and contributions she was after.

Anyway, as usual she lied her guts out. She said no revenue was generated from ads either directly to her or otherwise ie offsetting platform costs. She said the site was a labour of love, was costing her to run it and that it wasn't worth a cent and she didn't care if it was or wasn't.

I know years ago when the internet was first becoming a thing English soccer clubs used to run their own forums. It stopped because of legal issues. If a club officially ran a forum they could be liable for all sorts of defamation suits and stuff.

The club did run a forum on the club website about 5 years ago... but it got very negative very quickly and they only ran it for one year.

There is certainly a lot wrong with her but I do remember a time when I was on PRE that some free tickets came up for a match where you could sit on the stage area. It was pretty cool... Rosie had 5 tickets offered to her and she gave them away. I took a mate along and it was a good day
