QAFA (A) - 2014 Season

I'll provide another 2c worth of 'IMO' nonsense:
Beenleigh - huge list turnover, would really benefit from some on-field education ie Morro/Buzz etc.. Can't go on forever granted.
Carrara - have a good team-based game mentality, need 3 or 4 match-winners.
G.Moorooka - have built a winning culture, but may undo
that by going for 'the kill' too
early.
Ipswich - high talent/high risk,
find a 'go to list of basics
under pressure' & they'll do
well.
Logan - time to drop the 'give
it to Mill tag' & upskill the
bottom 9.. perennial
underachievers.
Park Ridge - recruitment pool
issues, Masters or Juniors -
once club established fully,
mid-range age recruits, they
can threaten.
Pine Rivers - playing all aces
early, very good hand. Travel
may test but finals beckon &
full list very, very capable of
silverware.
Redcliffe - slow starters,
marathon not a sprint, 08' &
12' show the 2nd half of the
season is worth more than a
loss or two early.
UQ - Better selection process
this year, opposition sides may
yet regret questioning their
team sheets, have depth.
Correct on most
but I think you are all forgetting that Milligan was not at Logan last year and they still made the finals
Moorooka will be the one to watch, maybe peaking to early, see if Flowers stays the distance
Pine depends on Boucher

tips for the weekend.

Pine Rivers - 80+
Logan - under 20
Redcliffe - under 30
UQ - 100 + to keep up the trend

and from what my sources are telling me.. Griffith Moorooka are looking primed to run over the top of the BYE

My tips for round 5

Ipswich by 5
Logan by 20+
Redcliffe by 20+
UQ by 30+

Ipswich pine rivers should be a really good game only, went with the home ground advantage, buffs are well over due for a win, on paper Carrara have named there best side this season so far so il back them. And Redcliffe will bounce back like good sides do

wow just had a look at the reserve side of things.

UQ and Redcliffe killing it! both 300+% both their seniors sitting around the top of the ladder too so can't be any talk of keeping players down for a 2's flag

Sorry mate, my 'give it to Mill' comment was more in line with, IMO Logan have been more focused on match day with their 3 or 4 better player's possessions than a structured 22.
Pine however, with Boucher are a better side, however should be just as capable of winning based on their game plan/style of footy, if he's not playing, the next guy on the list gets the the role, admittedly probably minus some of the class

Pine are a quality team at home, their game plan/style of footy works well with Boucher, but faltered as showed with their game v UQ
Logan's style has changed from last year, structured 22, possibly. What else has changed ?
Moorooka defend well and rely on Flowers as a spearhead, depth to be tested into the year
Ippy do well when the corridor is open, and at home
UQ flood well and choke the space in the opposition forward line, remind me of Sydney
Redcliffe, are just solid and have that simple game plan
Park Ridge have the quality to execute their game plan but their depth is being tested
Beenleigh ???
Carrara ????

So Far

I believe Boucher played against UQ...they simply got beaten by a kick.
What's changed with Logan? I'm tipping not much...yet. Do they have a new coach? If they play a 22 man game they'll improve their consistency quickly.
Beenleigh? They'll have a better 2nd half of the season but Carrara will struggle... In the Gold Coast local clubs pecking order..the Saints have a heap of ground to make up

Hay smithy ,
Mabye you need to get out more cause from you last post you have no idea what t your talking about ,have you seen every team play have you ?

Sure did. Still work to do, however a good first hit out. A positive vibe around the club and I am very much looking forward to round 3. :)
What round you looking forward to next old mate, last four have been shitty. Round 10 when you play Beenleigh again and declare you're world beaters again, looks good hey.

You should check your facts IPW, because know one from the pirates on here have ever said that we were world beaters or talked about our team in that way. And one bad game in five is hardly what I'd call shitty. Anybody who has talked us up has come from other clubs. So I would suggest you keep your ill informed opinion to yourself

There has been a bit of talk about Ipswich being a 'smokey' on here, by the look of the results there's some substance to that claim. Tested in the 1st half by a quality
side to finish so strongly shows great application. Logan scrape past Carrara, Redcliffe had to work to quell the Pirates & UQ must be starting to enjoy their footy. It wasn't the margin in that game that impressed me, it's the fact that the UQ of previous seasons confronted with the same chance of % may have only won by 4 or 5 goals... Becoming a great comp, pretty open now!

UQ v Moorooka next round should be a cracking game.

Pirates did well to stay so close to Tigers at home.

Successful day for Beenleigh, breaking the half ton for the first time this season.

What happend?

Thought Pine Rivers weren't clinical enough should have killed the contest by half time. Ipswich had lacked shape and a game plan, not sure but I recon it was really hot out there. But most of all the burger I had was a diasater
