well i will let you guys know willie played for victoria point yesterday and carved was a brutal games with lots of blood big hits and two red cards for victoria point no Rhan yesterday due to representative coaching duties up north but will be back next week from what i understand,

There wasn't a goal scored that wasn't a free kick. Both teams gave away at least 20 50 meter penalties each, obviously GM stronger on the day.

I don't anyone will trouble him for the goal kicking if he Suns continue there good form . He is an unlikely looking gun . Was very very good for surfers last year .

Was very good for Surfers for about eight seasons, last year he only played 3 games at Surfers for 17 goals.

Moorooka easily a 5 goal better side on the day. Umpiring was a disgrace to both sides, don't think the coaches will punish the 50 m penaltys on Tuesday as they'd run out of time.

Redcliffe very wasteful with the footy but I think they're will be some good clashes between these sides this year.

Looks like the Tigers have got some last minute clearances before round 1, including a Nathan Bell and a handy mid fielder from Sangate

The Pirates are front runners, as soon as the Suns put some scoreboard pressure on, they started to argue amongst themselves.
As for the bloke (big bloke who wouldn't run out of sight in a dark night) sitting behind the can bar bagging the umpires all day, I'll give you a tip. Your gobbing off won't help your side when it comes to the 50/50 calls.

I'm not to sure what the stats were for set shoots, in the end accuracy plays a huge part. Pressure on the ball carries makes the accuracy % drop i will give credit where its due and our boys did very well against the pirates at the school ground, pirates will be great contenders this year.

Park Ridge were very physical and hard at the contest, our boys will be sore today, Josh is right Park Ridge will great contenders this year . that is opposite to their reserves who looked scared as the game went on and did not look as hard as their seniors, their seniors wont want much of their ressies.

Willy Broome wow, was an absolute gun back in Wynnums glory days, must be getting on a bit. No coach round one make it hard to be at your best, have not heard of that happening previously

Thanks karma, it is good to start the season and a new division with a win.
Was a very scrappy affair though and we will really need to lift our standard for our next game.

New teams winning...suns starting off new club name with a win and reigning premiers on the board...
Looking forward to seeing how bond go and if Ipswich,pirates bounce back....
From what I heard suns/pirates game was good battle with the big forward for suns the difference....also a whisper that pirates had a few out ??
Alot of chat about buffs on these pages earlier and if they had numbers,it makes me wonder about Wynnum win and are they finals contenders.
11goal win take everyday of the week but to see reserves only win by 11points makes me wonder of depth.....
