"Tradition V Trivia" (for anyone interested):

A short one this week (and next):

Round 16

Morningside V Aspley

Played 15: Morningside 5 – Aspley 10 (2009-2013, 2022-2024)
Last time they met (Round 10), Aspley got home by 21 points.
Their only clashes have been in the QAFL competitions, following Aspley’s promotion in 2009. In that time, only two of their games have ended with a margin under ten points. Aspley is currently on an 8-game winning streak against Morningside.
Here is the accumulated score across their 15 games: Morningside 198 – 176 – 1364 to Aspley 208 – 176 – 1424. So, if Morningside can win by 60 points, then the scores will be all even. If Aspley can score 76 points, they will reach a score of 1500 against the Panthers.

Maroochydore V Mt Gravatt
Played 10: Maroochydore 5 – Mt Gravatt 5 (QAFL 1998-1999, 2020-2024)
Overall 12: Maroochydore 7 – Mt Gravatt 5 (1993, 1998-1999, 2020-2024)
They shared one BAFL season together before Mt Gravatt was elevated in 1994.
Their last encounter provided a 69 point victory for the Roos. During their QAFL tenure, the honours have been shared with Mt Gravatt winning the first five games (spread across 23 seasons) – and Maroochydore winning the next five. Thus, the Roos are on a five-game winning streak against the Vultures.
The Byes have made the Round so short this week, that I have worked out the cumulative QAFL scores for each game. This one is incredibly close! After ten games, Maroochydore has 122-131-863 to Mt Gravatt’s 127-104-866. There is only three points between the two clubs over their QAFL history. Makes me hope (possibly beyond reason) that it could be a close game this weekend.

Sherwood V Palm Beach Currumbin
Played 31: Sherwood 11 – Palm Beach 20 (QAFL 2011-2024)
Overall 47: Sherwood 18 – Palm Beach 29 (1999-2000, 2005-2008, 2011-2024)
Now I know that Sherwood met up against Palm Beach in 1999, when they reformed as a Senior club. However, I am fairly certain that after they “left” the QAFL in 1987, Sherwood had several seasons in the GCAFL. Happy to take comments from the audience on this one.
The Round 8 game this year ended with the Lions winning by 49 points. Seven QAFL games have had single-digit margins. For two teams that have met in numerous finals across various competitions, it is quite surprising that Palm Beach is currently on a 14-game winning streak against the Magpies.
The cumulative score across the 31 QAFL games has Palm Beach ahead: Sherwood 407 – 308 – 2750 to Palm Beach 460 – 413 – 3173.

That’s about it for this week. I am certainly hoping for some close results.
As usual, if anyone disagrees with any details, or has more information to share, please let me know – I want to get these records as accurate as possible.

Enjoy. :thumbsu:
