$10What was charged at the gate?
No issue with that for an entry fee, for a Grand Final!$10
And prices for a drink were well over what any club charges.
Good venue though
Smy,
not wrong ,, the big crowd was well spread all around the ground which made for a even better atmosphere and they were right into it .
Build it and they will come is the saying ,, and the supporters sure did,,, proving the location is not a issue.
This just has to be the venue for future QAFL Grand Finals .
There was the general bar at one end and a bar was set up at the other end behind the goals.
But the food facilities were poor ,,only one outlet over near the general bar ... surely they could of had a mobile food van on the other side of the ground as well.
And Parking ,, well theres heaps of parking so it more then catered for the large crowd .
Also, must comment the Umpiring was very good on the day
Cheap! No issue with that for an entry fee, for a Grand Final!
You would think that people will take a train as well. At 50c a trip as well!!There was food also being served inside, probably the signage wasn’t any good , I got served there in no time 3/4 time of the ressies.
Not surprised they ran out of food as I reckon the attendance was 1000 more than most would’ve expected.
It was a great venue, I’ll put my hand up and say I had my doubts thinking it was too far away but I was wrong and it’d be great to lock it in there every year in my opinion

Absolutely ,, huge crowds at these SA Grannies... and Perth are big as well ,, not as many as SA but still good crowdsSouthport go down to Werribee in the VFL GF played at Ikon Park by a single goal. Also interesting how both teams are standalone teams and both have played in either one of the last couple of GFs. Gold Coast also won it last year or the year before too. All QLD teams made finals in the VFL.
SANFL GF. Saw a post on FB from 7AFL saying the crowd was about 35 thousand! Glenelg going back to back too.

Always had big crowds as does the WAFL ,, THEY HAD SOME 26K AT THEIR gF ON THE WEEKENDSouth Australians are rusted on when it comes to the sanfl
Every Sunday at midday on channel 7 all states have a live local game. SA and WA have a SANFL and WAFL game whilst Victoria show a VFL game. If QLD footy is going ahead with numbers like they keep saying How the furk don’t we get a QAFL game every Sunday. Again just shows how far behind our leadership is at head quarters.South Australians are rusted on when it comes to the sanfl
I think him and Petric were vitally important coming back to Keilor for last two games I think they kicked 26 goals between them in last few weeks.Colenso was outstanding.
I imagine Keilor very happy when Willy got knocked out of the VFL!
Yea just think local footy in Victoria better attended period than up this way SM - not a slight on anyone but it's not really any different to crowds in Melb for AFL footy vs crowds in Qld. Just a greater level of interest. we have lots of participants, not necessarily a lot of attendees I would argue from my observations. Crowds at QAFL games are reasonable but remembering that in the main entrance is free. Crowds at local games in Melb are the equal of if not better and start around $8 up to $10 to get in. I'm not sure just bc we call the QAFL a state league that we need to compare everything to the VFL/SANFL/WAFL who are in true football states but just be happy with the product that is rolled out and the players we develop into being damn good footballers across the land. Centrals in the SANFL had 2 young fellas in Barry and Larkins running around with them in a prelim as well as the numbers you have said at VFL level. It's a bloody good tick for our guys and like to think more try their arm doing this than FIFO rubbish which must be a very unrewarding experience imo. Even local GF’s in Melbourne are better run that what we produce up here. Its embarrassing.
Reckon Noosa Local Will McKenzie played in the reserves flag for Keilor SM! HI think him and Petric were vitally important coming back to Keilor for last two games I think they kicked 26 goals between them in last few weeks.
Lot of QLD kids running around in that competition in both seniors and Ressies. They put on a great GF Day at Windy Hill. Unbelievable atmosphere for local footy.
Not sure he will get that dual opportunity again as Williamstown might go all the way next year in VFL.

Heard Noosa boy Will McKenzie won the medal in the twos for Keillor SM,who also won the flag.Dont think the VFL listed blokes coming back from Willy helped him with a senior birth but that’s footy everywhere now! Hopefully he’s homesick and wants to come back to Noosa! The FIFO stuff will only get more popular! Jai Fitzpatrick heading to Mildura with Buntain and Laskey next year! Mind you upon talking to Laskey, they absolutely loved it and won a flag also.Buntain won the medal in the GF!Yea just think local footy in Victoria better attended period than up this way SM - not a slight on anyone but it's not really any different to crowds in Melb for AFL footy vs crowds in Qld. Yes there are 5 regular good senior players from Broadbeach that are nownFIFO to play in the Wimmera league for the Southern Mallee Eagles, They made the GF but were beaten by Ararat ,, thing is they are very good players and are treated like loyalty by the locals ,,, and thats the resaon why they luv it apart from the match payments lolThe FIFO stuff will only get more popular! Each to their own I suppose!
Yes mate I think Will has history at Keilor as well. I think his dad or grand father played there. Just shows how solid the competition is down there when a walk up QAFL kid can’t get a game at local footy.Reckon Noosa Local Will McKenzie played in the reserves flag for Keilor SM! H

Not really trying to compare SMY just think our people running the competitions/league are way out of their depth. Yea I’m not disagreeing with any of that except the part where u think the main comp is being run into ground. I don’t see that. The comp has too many clubs in it thoughNot really trying to compare SMY just think our people running the competitions/league are way out of their depth. Anyone that thinks
Trish Squires is doing an outstanding job must know nothing about footy.
After my dealings with new facilities with Pirates just showed me how incompetent the majority of staff are in the organisation. Aside from Jack Barry and one or two others the rest would not get a job with anywhere near the responsibilities they have at AFLQ.
They are running main competition into the ground. Even Thommo made a comment on lower division page where the medal count for those competitions is on the last long weekend we have before Xmas. Great planning again.
If it wasn’t for smart people and good volunteers at QAFL Clubs we would be in a lot more trouble. Look at MtGravatt when some good people leave and how bad it can get. Yet minimal support from league or guidance.
