At least 10 starting senior players and another 6-8 up and comers unavailable for various reasons. Only 4 from last years GF side played. Pumas will be competitive in 2017. Maroochydore a very good outfit though.

No Norman, Ryan, Mckenzie, Simpson or Murch, all genuine A graders played for Mdore yesty. Always told the Nth comp top teams stronger than Sth comp and could be an early indication of this.
yep fair point, time will tell of course but hard to argue at the moment after yesterdays game, although yeronga beat triple Northside premiers Mayne last week so who knows yet?. Will know more I guess after a few rounds when sides play each other for points and with stronger teams. Maroochydore very, very impressive no doubt about that and will be hard to beat by any team, full strength or not, in this comp.

I noticed the same Smy. Very young looking side with some big names missing. Very good effort.
Mayne has had some losses to the NEAFL (Craven, Coghlan) but they will be thereabouts when the whips are cracking...Brown and Mueller haven't played yet in the Preseason but they should be right for Rnd 1 from all reports...Maroochy look hungry though and I reckon this will be one of those season you drop your guard in any week and you will get your pants pulled down...Looks a very even comp...

Uni must have been putrid, and confirms imo it was a poor decision to have them in the qafl. Not sure how they qualified tbh
agree, they were putrid in the QAFL
Then drop down and lose their only 5 or 6 decent footballers and get smashed again.
Maroochy and a strong outfit though, will be interesting to see if a Div 1 side makes a play for a 10th QAFL license in 2018 (especially one form the sunny coast)

It has to come from the Sunny Coast, cant possibly be anyone else. Its whether a Maroochydore would want to go up and lose the fierce rivalries against Noosa and Caloundra
Bond were handy and will give a few sides a real run for the money...Mayne were solid and got the job done in blustery conditions...Loved the bond uni youtube channel as well but the commentators need to learn the opposition players names its not that hard...Anybody who doesn't know Andrew Housego by name clearly hasn't been around QLD footy very long !!!
