I see Karl Norman is playing for you has he moved up?
Normo up here most of winter as he owns massive farm down south and does heap of business up here during winter. Good mates with one of our boys so just wanted to have a kick with him. Hasn’t played for 3 years and late 30’s but will be good for us as been a great leader over his journey.

And Brent Arho as well, was FIFO to vic last few years, huge number of goals behind him. Good pick up, not cheap either given the money offered to him down south again.

We had BJ locked away back in 2020 until Covid set in plus we only ended up playing Friday nights.

Was always going to give us a few years once he finished his fly in footy. Got good job now so footy money not the major priority nor the travel. With $20K playing salary cap we were able to offer something that was fair for both parties.

might be another year of the haves and have nots, though at least a few left early to Fridays, otherwise this comp would have had 4 or 5 playing byes.

You are right Miller I think there was 5 byes in the original fixture with Moorooka and Ipswich in the competition.

Yeronga and Kedron game looked fairly even and Redcliffe accounted quite easily for Gympie.

So I still think there is 7 reasonably even sides and Jindalee just off the pack with Gympie and Wynnum coming from a long way back.

I still think after round 1 a bit to play out but Sandgate and Kenmore probably clear favourites with other 5 clubs chasing.

I think you are playing coy their cheque book, surely your mob will make a title run at some stage

Cheque Book playing out of a school oval for 15 years is a bit rough. Last time I looked we are allowed to spend $20K under a salary cap in this competition. If you can raise the funds and budget it within your club’s finances then what is problem with that.

Don’t begrudge any club doing that. Some clubs don’t spend a cent that way which is great. Eventually when we get to new premises next year we hope to not charge players any playing fees so they play for nothing and pay no one.

But whilst we play on a school oval we have to work a lot harder than most clubs to attract recruits. Don’t apologise for anything I do in regards to recruitment as it’s always in best interest of my club.

Redcliffe with a decent win v one of the top 2 tipped to win it all. Wonder if they are in the conversation as a challenger this year.

Terrible incident in the Yeronga Wynnum match in Q4. Poor bloke from yeronga laid a tackle in the fwd pocket and got leg caught up underneath opponent with the result being his ankle ended up at 90’ to wgat it should have been. Game called off. Was a terrible injury

did u see the number of ring ins for PR though?
We had 14 players out injured from last week’s seniors and Ressies plus another 4-5 that were unavailable for varying reasons.

Real struggle to get two sides out as no Sunshine Coast team had any leftovers. Gympie played just about on maximum points in seniors with some very handy ins and got us at right time.

Good luck to them.

Redcliffe red hot favourites. That’s a big result without seeing the game
Yep playing good footy. But there's still a long way to go and so much can happen before finals.
It's the club that gets there in good shape will have the advantage. But atm Redcliffe looking good.

Doug Nicholls round and 20 years since the Miracle on Grass. Last time he played for Yeronga he kicked about 10 goals without leaving the goal square.

Got f all to do with this thread. But question there are 2 clubs in div 1 women's that will forfit the twos every round for the rest of the year. Is there some sort of fine or something. Seems unfair to other clubs not getting a game and paying fees for a full year of footy.

A fine for each one.

Forfeit 3 times and you’re out of that comp for the next couple of years and AFLQ can direct you which comp you will play in.

Which clubs are you referring to?
