They could’ve requested it? Otherwise it seems a bit rough for them to be playing 2 games in 5 weeks then no break for the rest of the season!
0-3 is a better start then 0-5 for them atleast

Two byes to start the season was not a request. It’s just the way the league has done the draw. But we are nice guys, taking the hit so all other teams get a better draw.

a later season BYE would help with player fatigue or to rest injured players etc.

Some good recruits being signed!
Anyone dare to predict a ladder now that the draw is out?
1. Redcliffe - their year to win it.
2. Alex - kept their squad and are bloody good.
3. Yeronga - love the devs. New squad new year, big things - watch this space!
4. Kenmore - they’ll be back after a shocking start to 2024
5. Kedron - back at it and strong again.
6. Pine Rivers - Smokey. Seem to be doing something right.
7. Park Ridge - unlucky. Good top end!
8. Jindalee - on the rise with some quality and a decent new coach
9. Zillmere - getting there with some handy additions
10. Wynnum - almost - but every club does the Rockliff drill anyway.
11. Gympie - making up the numbers.

Redcliffe are looking the goods and would be expecting to be in the big dance.
Alex always finishes strong and most likely Redcliffes biggest threat.
Kedron Kenmore Yeronga were off the pace last year but all look better this season.
Pine going alright but a few outs could see the same as last year.
Park ridge could be up there as hard to beat at home.
The rest have no chance and would be hoping to be competitive.

Good to see the pirates finally get a new home. Pretty far away though. Are they gunna stay Div 2 north? And are they gunna change names to the yarabilba yowies !!!

Dunno I just saw it on there fb page. Great news for them! Not too keen on the drive from the Northside though
Hopefully get a few games there end of year is my understanding. Unbelievable growth area with 3 new schools in the area means for good junior base. Keeping the facilities at Park Ridge as well but new complex has 3 ovals.
Awesome result for club after the previous issues with rogue junior committee and local councillor. The new councillor in this area is a ripping bloke and the Mayor is very keen to rectify the problems previously created.
Not sure on what this means for overall competition in regards North or South but I reckon there will be changes to that anyway next year from what I am hearing.

How successful has the Giants venture been mate?
I think they are morons to be honest Longy. All involved have been very dishonest and behaved appalling.They have 3 junior teams and a girls U15’s and a mixed U13’s team. Be interesting once the kids reach senior ages of the committee people they will just leave and be interesting to see how it ends.
I noticed yesterday they still pot shotting Pirates on a Yarrabilba Community site.
I’m sure most junior clubs dealing with them are seeing what sort of people they are. AFLQ keep giving them concessions which doesn’t help. I think they won a very low level Division U15 Girls Premiership last year and majority of side was U17’s. That stuff doesn’t help anyone.

Great outcome for Pirates & footy in Logan West. Looks to me like the Giant gazumpers got gazumped in a giant manner.
