Much better than travelling 200+ km to get a similar result. Players will play at this level of footy when they know it's a short trip, not because its a super competitive game.
To be fair in response no one in Brisbane wanted to head up to the Sunny Coast on Friday night either. So you’re welcome to a Sunny Coast comp.

I just wonder how it helps Ipswich Cats, Rattlers, Ferny Grove, etc and clubs that are aiming to head to Saturday footy and play Div 2 against the Sandgates, Alex Hills & Redcliffes or the Div 2 Coolys, Burleigh & Bonds can get to that level playing those sorts of games.

The Friday night comps have grown astronomically so travel may not have been the devil it’s made out to be.

depends on the team, for someone who has been involved in this space for 17 years now, I can assure you that the Woodies missing finals for the first time ever was at least 50% attributable to the amount of travel required in recent years becoming unattractive for blokes that typically make up the side.

Jimboomba was once the outpost, its now just your average away game!

Good luck - would imagine will be fine
Numbers are very good. Unprecedented time frame issued by AFLq to hit the markers but reasoning very understandable. Being a junior club for so long there is an appetite for it. Only players that’s transferred from other clubs were juniors. Will be an exciting step forward for the club and the Sunshine coast.
Hopefully Narangba have hit their markers as well

So SC comp will have Moreton Bay, Caloundra, Maroochydore, North Shore, Glasshouse, Hinterland. Which is 7 plus any new teams which is a good size.

GC looks to have enough as well. Coolangatta, Labrador, Coomera, Carrara, Southport, Pac Pines, Ormeau.

Brisbane/Central -North/South - well I assume they will just split it at the river as they have done the last few years.

I assume north is Aspley, Sandgate, Ferny Grove, Marcellian, UQ, Mayne, Kedron, Yeronga and Redcliffe and Coorparoo’s second team(But could argue UQ and Yeronga south).

South- Coorparoo, Moorooka, Redlands, Ipswich Eagles, Ispwich Cats, Fernvale, Collingwood Park, Mt Gravatt, Jimboomba and Sherwood.

May have missed some but that’s how the comps could look with this new localised comp.
