Richmond could be knocked out of finals and Gerard would still have them in the list.

Like KB used to say after Richmond were consistently eliminated early in the finals (back in the good old days)

"I'll have to admit it will be difficult for the Tigers to win the premiership from here"

Lol Cotchin having a sook and IMO setting up an excuse for losing. ‘It looks easy from Melbourne but sitting around doing nothing is hard’.

It’s not doing nothing cause they have a working week. Agree they can’t do home handyman type stuff but the rest of their week is exactly the same as the other in Victorian teams including us.

I hope hope hope they lose cause losing to another Melbourne team stops the whining.

Maybe.

All the other teams not in a ‘hub’ such as Lions, Port etc are also constrained with what they can do so are pretty well much in the same situation as the other teams. It doesn’t get spoken about because it doesn’t t fit the Viccentric outlook on things. If I have to hear ‘they get to sleep in their own beds one more time’ as an advantage I will vomit. Ever heard of habituation? I’m sure the Tigers players are well used to their situation by now!

We're moving on up in the world. Still think Port are going to be tough to beat.

I am a bit worried by this, because Kane Cornes couln't pick his nose, let alone the winner of the Premiership. Would be happier if he installed someone else as favourite.

We also consistently are covering less ground than our opponents and making less sprinting efforts. I can’t say I’ve checked the tracker after every game but of the ones I have, it’s usually close to 10km difference.
It's been self evident that we've been getting more bang for our buck with our forward entries this year. A lot of that stems from our defensive exits which are more decisive and not as boundary focused.
I saw a stat this morning that we only had 30 odd bounces for the year (the second lowest behind Melbourne). Richmond was the most bounces (along side Essendon) with something like triple what we did.

What I took out of this is we really arent a running team. We consistently have low possession numbers but we do have we use very efficiently. We get it forward well and lock it in or score

Most of them have been sleeping in the same bed for approx 3-4mths.....well and truly enough time to get used to the bed. Also can't recall too many resort beds that are uncomfortable.

..and another thing, those hub teams have been playing at the Gabba constantly, enough time to get used to that too. We have lost our edge for home ground advantage there as well....except for the tigers who never had a problem with it for years until the other night.

Would love to see them locked down in miserable conditions like we are here. They are having a paid for holiday!

Pack of whinging p*&#*s. I'd love to swap places with them right now!

Pretty sure we have the highest kick to handball ratio in the comp (fewest handballs, second most kicks). We are a kicking team.

Actually, I think it his left foot. though this might appear to be carping ( and I most certainly am). But I could hardly be more in sympathy with your post which so encapsulates my gloriously satisfied feelings.

He's a good 'un, that rich fella. That might well be the first time I've ever written such a thing, about people who are 'rich', nearly all of whom are hopeless at footy, and usually, palpably, quite odious. He is the exception who proves the rule. Has our club ever enjoyed the benefit of a better, more dependable, or more accurate kick, even in our most celebrated seasons?

This bloke would give him a run for his money.

Public holiday - time for a replay... Changed my votes after the replay.

I had Starce top 10, but not in the votes. Now I have him top 2.
Kiddy Coleman - what pressure!
Votes also to Richy, Lyons, Charlie. Huge games.

Unlucky misses for Hughey, and Rayner - both excellent games.

Downsides - Stef wasn't in good form. Wasn't McStay's best game, but gotta back him in. Ah Chee again had some good moments and some shockers - keen to see more consistency next year. And Lachie fought his way back well, but still was far less damaging than normal and had a few too many clangers.

If we go again with Tiges in the GF... They get Lynch back, and Lachie doesn't have a 1 in 100 poor game... Would be a nailbiter.

Prelim - Not sure whether I want Geelong or Collingwood. I'd have us 60/40 favourites against either, but would still be a tough match.
Grandy - Most fearful of Richmond (50/50), then Port (55/45), then Saints (70/30)...

Thing is, the umpires do not have the benefit of slowing down a replay, nor do they have the several camera angles the home viewer has, it is all split second decision. Remember they will see an incident and then have to adjudicate it and in the process raise their whistle to their mouth in readiness to blow it, lots can happen in those micro seconds.
And yes, extremely hard game to umpire with lots of grey rules open to interpretation.
Problem is that many many in the backs are ignored and then the ump pulls a couple out of their derriere.
One incident I that m watch one player was riding another like a horse. If that is not in the back gawd help us.

Realised today I'm fairly content now no matter what happens. I really think this could be the year, but if it's not I'd back in the team to treat it as a learning experience.

They've shown so much maturity and have proven they deserve to be considered a good team. If this isn't the year then I'm confident we'll continue to put ourselves in a position to compete for premierships.

Trust in Fagan.

Swap places with the teams that have gone into the hub and not have a footy season at all because that's what would have occurred if we went with that stunning scenario

Think you will be doing a fair bit of vomitting.

Oh don’t worry. Both of them still only believe Brisbane beat Richmond because it was at the Gabba, the players have been sleeping in their own beds, and the Tigers had an off night 🙄

Martin panics so much he actually nearly misses his boot when he kicks sometimes.

When Martin handballed after marking 30m out in front, I felt like Archie gave me a gut punch and going "See, that punch is for laughing at my handball to the player on ground !!! happens to every ruck man out there from time to time !!! We ruckman are just handball happy souls !!"

Similar to Oscar playing on in the back pocket and kicking it down the throat of Chol in the last quarter.
There's nothing better than a big guy playing on running about 10 yards and sinking his boot into it. Except most times it goes to the opposition.

Stef panics to get rid of it because he's petrified of taking the set shot. We should know by now to run past him for the handball.

What happened to Richmonds unassailable record at the Gabba? That doesnt matter now because your players didnt get to tuck into their own beds?
