As far as unbiased, easy to access news sources in this country go, would have to be right up there imo. Whilst they have a lot of clickbait titles, so does every other news site today. If I'm looking for well thought out arguments to use in any of my uni assignments, news.com.au would have to be the first place I visit.
The **** you visiting news sites for uni. you're supposed to use peer reviewed journals and the like

Hot garbage.

If you want right wing news, watch Sky News Australia. If you want free news, watch the ABC.

News.com.au is just clickbait nonsense. It doesn't exist to rile people up about commies and immigrants, it exists to rile up anyone and everyone to sell advertising. Most of the articles are poorly written, full of spelling mistakes etc. but what really shits me (and it's now limited to news.com.au) is articles that are one of two paragraphs fluffed out with Instagram posts and Twitter reactions. If I turn on the news to see the weather I just want to hear from the weather person about what the BOM have to say. I don't care what a bunch of Karens think because of Mercury retrograde or healing crystals or some bullshit.

The ABC v Sky conparison is Sky admit their bias.

I've seen Sky journos discussing the biases of the ABC and 'the left' unironically on more than one occasion. News outlets rarely advertise their biases.

There are plenty of Sky News journos/panelists and viewers who genuinely believe it's not right wing.

A lot of deja vu when you read that site. They use click bate headlines that regularly don't match the content. They regularly change the headlines to trick you in to thinking the article is new or been updated when it is in fact the same article from before.

When news is slow they rehash 2 or 3 week old articles with new headlines.

Not hard to see, except when you are in fierce agreement. Same applies to panel shows on both Fox & the ABC imho.

Bias on the ABC is a lot like Donald Trump's claims of election victory, it's proclaimed loudly from the roof tops with little to no evidence in support of it.
I think there is a significant problem with their news panel shows. Over time, the number and variety of perspectives on those shows proves pretty limited. The viewpoints represented often come down to who is willing and able to provide the ABC with a free mouthpiece at a few hours’ notice.

These shows have become way too prominent in the last few years, by virtue of being so cheap to produce.

I would rather see less crap like The Drum and more hard news reporting like Stateline and Lateline.

Simply look at the panels, but then again you cant see what you dont want to see.
Doesnt stop people looking - a 'think tank' doesnt indicate thought. Watching/reading does not indicate support.

Always funny when someone on the ABC interviews the PM or another high ranking politician. You get "how many soft ball questions do you guys wanna throw at them? ABC has just turned into a Government mouthpiece!!" and "Left bias! If it had been someone from the ALP you wouldn't have gone so hard on them!" in about equal measure these days. Same when it's a member of the opposition.

People see what they want to see.

They often like to post articles about a gang rape, female getting murdered, bashed etc, obviously it's to evoke the crying emojis and the "when will this stop" type quotes in the comments. Obviously this stuff is bad but it's usually a random story from overseas when you read the article, the headline makes it sound like it happened next door.

I imagine the Indian version (where they love a gang rape) of news.com is the exact opposite
