Now that the dust has settled (well, I've been knocked out), what are your thoughts? Ideas for the future?

Did you enjoy it?

Did you go to the other room to eat your tea then come back to find it had started?

Did you have connection difficulties?

Ready to play again next Wednesday?

One suggestion has already been implemented - we'll have a password next week so only BF users can enter.

A few Questions from Hansa:

1 Do you want longer levels?

2. Freezeout or rebuy tourny?

3. Freeroll with paid rebuys (like the Queen tourny).

4. What amount to buyin for freezeout?

5. How do you want to deposit?

6. Which is your best night to play?

Definitely password it.

Also, you need to see if something can be done about people who just 'sit out' and wait.. It's bloody annoying.

I was just thinking where were all the comments.

Maybe >50% were non-BF'ers.

Tournaments must have a password. Send via email rather than post password on here.

Actually only 12 people were non-BF'ers.

Password it - better if it is actually BF users or friends. Don't want someone to wander in and win it who has nothing to do with BF - defeats the purpose of having a BF tourney.

8:30 Thursday is usually good for me except for next week when I am on a plane to Auckland.

I don't care whether the tourney is rebuy or not - I'll never rebuy or add-on myself.

The app was a bit of a dog to download and install (had to disable my antivirus) but not too bad.

Freezeout

3. Freeroll with paid rebuys (like the Queen tourny).

4. What amount to buyin for freezeout?
$5

5. How do you want to deposit?
I WANT TO USE BLOODY PAYPAL!! damn Americans and their laws.. Not allowed to use Paypal for Poker, but an 18 year old buying a gun is ok..

6. Which is your best night to play?
Wed or Thu

liked the tourney.

Liked the rebuys if have same blind levels.

Otherwise if no rebuys then u need longer levels 15mins and deeper stack like3000. Allows for good poker

Enjoyed the tournament, think things are pretty good as they worked last night. I came 6th and my friend came 4th and got $30 and $40 US each so can't complain.

-If you could password it that would be good, but don't know if you can.
-Obviously I'm not a fan of re-buys and add-ons if this money isn't added to the prize pool (but without them the site probably wouldn't put up $500 every week so if it a neccasary evil let em slide).
-Leave the blinds as is, I heard some people saying to raise the amount of time on each level, it took 3hrs to find a winner as it was, I'd hate to think what it would be if we reduced the frequenices of the blinds.

hi all

thanks for the feedback so far.

for the king of poker next week we're aiming for the following:

Wednesday 8pm 16th April

same format - $500 guaranteed

$5 rebusy and $5 addon - for those who wish to use it (or want to keep playing).

all rebuys and addon's do go to the prizepool - if they are more than 100 rebuys or addons, then the prizepool grows larger (all funds returned to the players)

levels will be 12 minutes to allow for a bit more game player.

i think the following week, we'll try a deeper stack freezeout, but maybe with e buyin fee of $10.

also is there any desire for a higher staked smaller field buyin - maybe $50 buyin and say 5k starting chips with 15 mins levels?

all the feedback helps - chief and I are trying to find the right forumula so you guys get a good game, and help you guys win a few bucks too!

cheers
tim

People just have to learn how to play against players sitting out. If you've got a table full of them, the active players should basically not call any raises. In no time you've bled them dry. It's just common sense. I saw so many people fold to players who were sat out last night, it was crazy.

Suggestions; get a password going so it's BF only.
I prefer freezeouts, but it's add-ons that I really don't like. If you're good enough to survive the rebuy period, you shouldn't then find yourself short-stacked without an add-on, especially a double add-on.
Wednesday and Thursday nights are generally fine for me.

All in all, very enjoyable, thanks Chief! :)

I agree. Not a bad night. Honestly I was hoping for a bit more chat from people about footy. I don't liek the idea of people buying back in. I just means people play crazy loose hands until the buy out period is over. If they hit well then they are in a good position if they don't then they just buy back in. Which in my opinion is not good poker. Def pass word it for BF people only. Started to play loose when Ramsey's Kitchen nightmares came on :) hahah stopped concentrating :)

But worked reasonably well... Good stuff

Now that the dust has settled (well, I've been knocked out), what are your thoughts? Ideas for the future?

Get rid of the re-buy section. Seriously, people with CC's can just keep buying more and more chips. It's an unfair advantage. Once the limit on re-buying passed, heaps more people were knocked out and it got a lot more fun.

Did you enjoy it?

Sure, wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it.

Did you go to the other room to eat your tea then come back to find it had started?

Nah, was ready and waiting.

Did you have connection difficulties?

The interface is a little slow, and I had the difficulties of installing it but that was NOD related which was already mentioned.

Ready to play again next Wednesday?

Sure.

Lovely.

A few Questions from Hansa:

1 Do you want longer levels?

Christ yes. On my table we weren't even doing a lap of the table before they went up.

2. Freezeout or rebuy tourny?

I assume freezeout means what I said at the top, so that one.

3. Freeroll with paid rebuys (like the Queen tourny).

Either a freeroll with no paid rebuys, or a $2 (or similar) tournament.

4. What amount to buyin for freezeout?

$2-$10

5. How do you want to deposit?

I put $25 in last night.

6. Which is your best night to play?

Wed/Thurs

All of that sounds perfect Tim. The higher staked field would be good too but perhaps would have to be run separate to the freeroll of $10 freezeout.

I enjoyed it and seeing as the password will be there next week its all good.

It was like the 1998 Grand Final all over again. Losing the un-losable. Talk about dejavu.

Was tracking beautifully until going all in with a pair of kings and queens and dropping about 7,000 chips in a hand.

I'm better than my 81st ranking. I demand a rematch.;)

Hi all I was one of the sitters, not because i wanted to but because im old and senile i stuffed up my user and password. I have it all sorted now and am looking forward to next week. (i will be in so long i will get the wife to tape underbelly :)) I would rather it played on a thursday evening. I wont be doing any re-buys as my budget is small. It appears that the night was a great success and congrats to Chief and all the other helpers for organising it. Cheers BTW I finished 39th and never saw a card

Now that the dust has settled (well, I've been knocked out), what are your thoughts? Ideas for the future?

Did you enjoy it?
Yes, I did. Coming runner up somewhat helped the enjoyment factor!

Did you go to the other room to eat your tea then come back to find it had started?
Nah, was mucking around getting used to the software and losing money in cash games on Full Tilt :-("

Did you have connection difficulties?
No, seemed to run pretty well

Ready to play again next Wednesday?
Normally play in my local "live" casino game on Wednesday nights, so I'll have to say "no"

A few Questions from Hansa:

1 Do you want longer levels?
Yes please! 8 minute levels were far too short. My initial table had only played about a dozen hands by the start of the 3rd level. Make it at least 10 minute levels... Preferably 15mins

2. Freezeout or rebuy tourny?
I'm not too fussed either way. I generally prefer freezeouts, but I did a single rebuy at the beginning and an addon in the break, which no doubt helped me get to the final table. I think a freeroll with the option to rebuy is ok.

3. Freeroll with paid rebuys (like the Queen tourny).
As Above, liked that part of the format.

4. What amount to buyin for freezeout?
Would like to see a $5 - $10 buyin if we decide to go down that track.
If people wanna play higher than that, then theres many MTT options on most of the 100s of poker room sites out there!

5. How do you want to deposit?
I have just signed up for Gary Benson's intercash service at: www.garybenson.com.au
Check the site for more info, but he provides Aussie players with quick, cheap and fairly simple cash transfer services between banks and betting/poker sites.

6. Which is your best night to play?
Thursdays is a good night for me (ie Bigfooty Queen of Poker tourney), but Mondays and Tuesdays would be mostly ok too. Just not Wednesdays or Fridays (for obvious reasons!)

Just another bit to add to my last post...

How come the Bigfooty.com Queen of Poker tournaments rebuys/addons weren't added to the total prize pool?

I mean, I don't expect the site to add the full amount of all rebuys/addons to the available prize pool, but at least some of that should have been distributed back to the winning players in the money.

From what I could see, the prize pool at the beginning of the tourney was $500 and didn't change from there.

I was one player that did a rebuy as well as an Addon ($10 worth).

Now, there may not have been too many other players rebuy or addon, but you would expect the prize pool to go up/change by at least another $30 or $40.

Don't see the point of rebuying/addon if it doesn't positively affect the prizepool at all.

Anyhow, thanks Chief and the bigfooty crew for organizing and offering such events.

regards,
Brayza

brayza, AFAIK the tournament was a freeroll with rebuys and a guaranteed $500 prize pool. I assume there was no vig with rebuys and addons and these were added to the pool. Unless there's > 100 rebuys and addons, the prizepool will not change.

and your "check it down" during the hand was

but I did it once to Borgsta a while back :)
