I don't mean the forgettable stuff you read on brainyquote.com and then forget about a minute later. I mean the sayings or speeches that your mind regularly revisits, that really provide some guidance for your decisions, be they big or small decisions. I'm sure everyone has at least one of these that they think of over and over.
For me, it's:
'But why, some say, the Moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas? We choose to go to the Moon ... We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.' - John F. Kennedy, 1962
'When you get up in the morning, you have two choices – either to be happy or to be unhappy.' - Norman Vincent Peale
'Stop saying "I wish" and start saying "I will".' - Various sources
One person's forgettable is another person's inspirational, I guess.
