Best :
Wines elite.
Gray solid.
Lobbe outstanding.

Worst:
Pittard
Toumpas
O'Shea

Keys:
- The crows basically just bomb every forward entry to the top of the goal square and we couldn't contain the chaos or marking. With all our outs that was probably expected.
- The D50 rebound was horrendous. I almost dont blame the Toump for the couple goals he coughed up. It was almost as if he just had no idea what he was supposed to be doing. The coaching of our team in this area is ridiculous.
- The game was defined by our mistakes. We are the unforced error kings. How many dropped marks in defence and horrible kicks, handballs and just poor options can you take in 1 game. We were literally a bees whisker away from having a ripper game but this shit brought us back to earth.
- The big guns in our midfield stepped up tonight but the second tier went missing a bit, Amon, Toump, Neade, Young, Palmer, etc jist a bit to quiet. Lobbe though was outstanding in ruck and led the way for Wines and Gray.
- Boak continues to do so much basic shit appallingly. However he still contributed. Really need him to lift and stop making such poor decisions when the game is on the line. He needs to lead on field and right now his actions at times are deflating are definitely not what you want to follow.

Was Lobbe outstanding or are you just taking the piss?

From all accounts he did well at the taps but still basically like playing a player short around the ground.

Modern ruckmen need to be involved in the play.

But I guess a somewhat positive game, given how low the bar has been for him.

True im not comparing him to Todd Goldstein, but he did the job and played out the role in the exact way we need from a player like him. We smashed them in the clearances and he was a major factor in that.

Disappointed we didn't get the win but happy we were competitive and weren't flogged. On the whole kinda depressing it's gotten to that point but goes to show where we are at the moment, also gotta be some worries for the camries only getting up over a bunch of <20 gamers by 15 points courtesy of their 29yo best player.

In short, close but not good enough, just about sums up the year in general for me.

P.S. Anyone care to explain what the hell those 50's were about? Couldn't really see from my end, just looked like the umps taking pity that joe tha jerka hadn't jagged one from the square yet.

Boak, overstepping the mark. Impey (i think) over stepping the mark, Clurey back chatting to the umpire.

That Boak one on Thompson was stuffed then, looked like Thompson had gotten on his scooter and decided to play on before deciding otherwise. I'm not generally an umpire blamer and this is rhetorical as **** but gee whiz does any other team cop the rough end of the technical stick as much as us? Utter campaigners.

Boaks fault for not playing to the whistle.

Says who mate?
What this has to do with Port.........personally seen a niece on ice and hang herself. My wifes family suffered. My dad makes home brewed beer. Catch up with him for a brew. Every point of view you have is stuffed up the arse .

Yet when Brad Crouch gave the umpire an absolute mouthful after giving away a free kick in the middle of the ground it was all "You just stay there Brad, no need for a 50 but wash your mouth out with soap pls".

My throat is wrecked - silly me getting tipsily invested in the match. Maybe next year Port can actually snag a close win.

Palmer, DBJ, Amon, Clurey and Impey all have a future with us.

Very pleased with the effort all game. Am grateful that the players made the effort for our last game at home this year.

Skills. We need skills.

Structure. Showed some signs tonight, but more needed.

Schulz. Love you man. But please retire - I cringe in case you stuff up your back for life. Would be a good skills coach?

O'Shea, please make players earn their marks, and attack the ball when it is kicked to you, instead of letting it bounce.

Nice hands, good leap & looks a good mover in general play.. we might have found one here

I'm in no way defending toumps game today, but I'm of the opinion we really screwed up with him this year.

We gave him a few games early. He looked average at times but mistakes were reducing by the week. We beat the Lions by 80 odd points. Toump has 22 possies and is starting to look like he's turning into a useful link man. Following that game he gets dropped.

Again i reiterate he was putrid tonight but I'm of the opinion we've done him zero favours helping him find some confidence at this level.

In the meantime we've got our VC playing soft football, getting games every week! What kind of msg does that send!?

Couldn't agree more. Said almost the same thing somewhere else. He's been treated shoddily. Even I can see that he needs games under the belt.

Is Toumpas playing his natural/main position when he plays for the AFL... Because I saw him as junior and playing for the magpies this year as a midfielder and he never been this bad

Edit; I ask because have a history of playing players out of position (Sam gray as a small forward for his first 2 years despite him clearly being a midfielder)
Seen quite a bit of the Maggies this year and also remember him at Eagles. He's a wingman, not half back flanker.
