Whether racist or not, we just cant have people throwing any objects at players. It sets a very dangerous precedent. She needs a decent sanction for that regardless of whether it was racist or not. Kochie would be up in arms if the shoe was on the other foot, lets see how he responds.

Mate, throwing a banana at a black person is as blatantly racist as can be. It doesn't happen to white sports players.
Giving the benefit of the doubt to a grown women who is feral and petty enough to throw an object onto the field in the first place is pretty ridiculous.

Clearly one of those people who always tries to claim racism isn't involved. Throwing a banana is as blatant as it comes. Would have to be an incredible coincidence.
Wasn't as though she was off her face, out of control and just started flinging whatever she could find. Far more calculated then that.

I don't know what traditions indigenous Australians have with bananas. Probably very few. There's a large number of bananas being thrown at dark skinned players of various sports around the world with the obvious undertone.

Yeah that's your typical stuff that you see thrown at people. Exactly my point. Can't ever recall a banana being tossed over the fence at any level of footy, and the fact that Betts is black doesn't help her cause at all.
Without any kind of secondary evidence, she's still a racist piece of shit.
There's no history of it in Australia that I'm aware of. Regardless, throwing things at players isn't on. Regarding the "monkey" claim, I'll wait for the investigation since it came with an assertion that the act was "clearly planned", which can't be known.

There's no history of a particular group of people being targeted by coke bottles, nor any items that imply they're primates. That's a terrible example.
