Got my first Pfizer dose yesterday and still not connected to 5g. Very disappointing.

I got first dose Pfizer a few weeks back and I reckon it took out my connection to my work network and reconfigured my software to windows 95. I’m looking forward to my shot next week. It will probably load frogger

Not one of those new dressed up computers that emulate 10,000 video games either- I got a legit 1980's frogger arcade machine. You gotta put a dollar coin in it for a credit before you play. I got Galaga board too, one day I'd like a Bubble Bobble board.

Sadly I don't have room for my frogger machine in my house, so it's in my garage. I use it as a workbench.

Am I a campaigner for seeing people abuse players through DMs on insta and think just turn off ******* DMs from people you don’t follow? Like yea it is vile that people send these messages but you can’t stop people from being like that. Yep. I actually believe everyone who signs up to social media should have to register a phone number at the least to keep more accountability but far out people are dumb as hell if they think they can leave DMs open to the public and not cop any abuse.

Yup no one's excusing flat racist or sexist behaviour but if you wanna leave open your inbox for everyone, that's completely your fault and I don't think you have a right to complain .

I kind of agree.

There always have been shitty people who do nasty things. You work around it, and limit your exposure to it. It’s kind of like the ‘reclaim the night’ movement. I mean it’s all very well to say that women, or anyone, should have the right to walk down a dark alley at any point unmolested. And it’s true, they should be able to, but it’s a risk. Internet is the same. There will always be creepy people. If you want to use social media then you should also use the tools available to limit exposure to random dickheads.

Also your best protection against trolls is ignoring them, or not seeing their crap in the first place. These people thrive on upsetting someone and they love the publicity. Filter it out and their efforts get ignored and they hate that.

Can't believe I'm picking apart your analogy like this but it's more like they have a safe ally for people to walk down with great lighting and security but people still walk down the dark one because they like the quiet.

Yeah. I wasn’t really happy with the analogy. I think where I was heading is that while it’s a nice idea that you should be able to do everything you like free from nasty things, it isn’t going to work because there will always be nasty people. So you use defences. Which, as you say, are made available on most internet sites.

It’s my favourite Lyon quote. Actually my partner is always saying to me not to worry about what you can’t change, which is helpful advice. I flip it around these days to also go with don’t waste time complaining about things which you can easily fix. So yeah, I lose a bit of patience with celebs doing articles about how their state of mind was impacted by social media messages. Lock randoms out.

You Victorians have a real hang up about the whole private or public school thing which just didn’t really exist where I grew up.

Having said that I entirely agree with the sentiment. I think he is an incredibly repellent human being and if I was any good at kicking people in the throat it would have crossed my mind

They are (I wasn’t going to tell him) but are generally regarded as a different universe to your elite private Methodist or Anglican private which are seriously pricey
