This is as far as my knowledge of TripleJ music goes...
lol, I'm pretty much the same. Normally I'll listen to the hottest 100 and then find all of the cool songs, I'm always a year behind it seems. I'm getting a bit tired of ya girl Amy Shark but I figured I'd sneak her on there at 10 because it's hardly her fault that she gets played everywhere and I actually didn't mind that song when it first came out.

Fair enough, I don't mind The Rubens either but Amy's probably better. I Said Hi gets overplayed a little, it was real good when it first came out back in about July, but now people are sick of it. All Loved Up is a better song in my opinion, she'd do real well if she flogged it off a bit more and let I Said Hi take a back seat for a while

Interesting first pick.

Interesting first pick.
I rate Jorja Smith for sure, there were a couple more songs of hers that I couldn't seem to find on there (guess they were 2017?) that could have easily made my list.

Have Genius as my top song for the year, probably my favourite song across the whole year and surprised it’s not coming up much in the Hottest 100 conversation. Will admit though, arguably one of the weakest fields in history IMO but then again I’m probably just losing touch with the youth of today...

I would have seen it on the list and voted for it if each of the artists names had been listed, must have just not picked up on it only seeing LSD.

I haven't voted yet because the website kept crashing on me, but I'm breaking my rule of not adding songs not on the long list as my song of the year (Happy by Last Dinosaurs) wasn't there.

Is it weird that I can name like over 40 songs each from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and probably over 100 songs from the 90s and 00s but I can probably name only 10 songs that they play on the radio these days? I mean I keep up to date with rap music but that's about all. Everything else I listen to is between 1950 and 2012 haha.
It probably makes it even weirder since I'm only 19 years old

Do you tell people that on YouTube comments?

UMO, nice
UMO are great. Really enjoyed Sex and Food, it's a pretty awesome record. Ruban Nielson seems like such a cool and interesting guy.

Changing the subject away from a shit radio station for a second...

For reasons I can’t be bothered fully going into, I’m trying to pick an MLB team. I’ve got it narrowed down to two but finding it really hard to settle on one.

New York Mets or Chicago Cubs.

I love the Mets colour scheme, kinda like that they’re the “other” team in New York, have a real affinity for Shea Stadium given its music history (even though its gone now), and I’m a big Seinfeld fan and he’s a Mets fan.

For the Cubs.... that song. That damn song. Its so ridiculously catchy and I got swept right up in the Cubs hype during their 2016 World Series win. Wrigley Field seems like a cool ball park too.

So anyway, thought I’d throw it out there and see if anyone had any opinions or could help sway me either way.
