Tips for the Big Bash tonight fellas?

I've got Heat to beat the Strikers

I'm thinking Heat, the Bash Brothers are hard to go past, but I wouldn't put it past the Strikers, who have a very quick bowling line up. I'm more worried about the Renegades tomorrow, our lack of firepower up the top of the order concerns me. Need our bowlers to really, really turn it on tomorrow night

How sexy was that Strikers jersey last year though? The helmet, the stripes, even the West End logo looks good on it. A really good look imo.

Solid start to the title defence tonight, let them get away a bit towards the end of their innings but were always in control of the chase. The Heat have to have the worst bowling unit in the league, and they have for a few years, Pattinson and Steketee are trash as the top two quicks.

Theirs would be the best uniform however I highly detest their helmet so a close 2nd for me
Why do you dislike their helmet? It's a nice continuation of the stripes branding they've pushed and it's also not particularly intrusive. It adds a layer to their look and works perfectly for T20- if it was in any other form of the game I would object but it fits right in.

I just don't believe in helmet designs for cricket, it goes against my religion

Edit: The shiny effect is also pretty weird for me too

The Heat are overrated in my opinion, their lineup is too top heavy- outside of their top four batters they deterioate badly, and it's been like that for a few seasons now. If McCullum and Lynn don't fire they pretty much lose 80% of the time, and their lower order also barely has any fight in them. They will still won't finish bottom though purely because of the match winners they have in their side.

There's only a few squads that are well rounded and have firepower with the bat and ball - looking at the final XI's from tonights match, the Heat have no bowlers, and the Strikers tonight really only have Carey to bat (and it was lucky he played well, they could have been in trouble if he went early). The Stars and the Scorchers are the only two for mine that have winners with the bat and the ball

Anyone else started getting a million follow requests from those annoying BBL news/fantasy accounts?

What platform? I'm always getting Instagram requests from fake Geelong Cats pages

I don't buy this, Weatherald hit a ton in the final last year and Ingram is a class player when he gets going. Jono wells in the middle can tick the scoreboard over (which he did excellently tonight), then there is Lehmann... plays dumb shots way too often but he clearly has talent, really hoping he comes good. Not sure on Short (guessing he can't be too flash if the Renegades don't rate him), but overall I think there is enough batting there to support the bowlers.

There's talent, there's no denying that, every team has talent with the bat and the ball. The only team that is really light on is the Sixers. Not a whole lot sticks out scrolling through their line up. The Strikers line up is pretty good, but I wouldn't put the house on Lehman and Wells carrying the team to a good total if the top order collapses early on.

The two teams who I would back to remain very competitive even with a top order collapse would be the Stars and the Scorchers. The depth they have is excellent and I would back Stoinis and Bravo for the Stars or Turner and Agar for the Scorchers to steady the ship

I'd back in Wells, I reckon he is pretty underrated. Stars always have the best list on paper but on the field it is a different story, Scorchers will be the team to beat as always, but it will be interesting to see how they go without Voges, both in terms of captaincy and with the bat.

Time and performances will tell for some of the underrated players. The nature and the promotion of the league means plenty of excellent players fly under the radar. Kane Richardson and Chris Tremain are a lethal bowling combo but you tend to not hear too much about them.

The Stars will be interesting this year. With Pietersen and Wright gone a new dynamic may come into the batting line up, and the addition of Bravo is massive (and a bad loss for the Renegades). The Scorchers are like the Sydney Swans - always a contender for the finals and they always have a high quality list. The loss of Voges will be interesting to watch but Mitch Marsh will spend at least half of the season in the squad, which may help them bank enough wins for a finals spot.

Not the same but I’ve been followed and unfollowed by 10+ Philadelphia 76ers accounts in the hope that I’ll follow them back but I never do.

The Renegades have been maimed by Cricket Australia with Finch and Harris out for the Boxing Day test. With them I'd confidently say we have the best batting lineup but don't see us going too far without them. Though Dan Christian is a welcome addition.
Well it's far more an honour to play for Australia than to play BBL so it's a no-brainer for them to leave for that. That said, it is still frustrating sending Finch and Harris to play for Australia, feels like chunk of our team is missing.

Yeah they go into the official accounts, go on the likes and just follow anyone in there and they might catch maybe 3 followers every 50 the request. I get tons everyday from Collingwood accounts, AFL accounts, NBA accounts, Toronto Raptors accounts, Green Bay Packers accounts, and now BBL accounts.

I'd imagine 99% of them are just Year 7s trying to feel important by posting news about *insert sport here* that everyone knew hours ago anyway from the official source.

I've been getting 3+ daily from Gold Coast Suns "official" accounts. Was thinking it was Grandsun at one point :p

When Finch isn't playing for the Renegades it's like when the popular kid at school is at home because they're sick. Feels strange to not have them around, and like something's missing
