Honest question about Syria, how long did people expect the US to protect the socialist organisations of PKK, YPG and MLKP?

Its a very good point. The Yanks were always going to sell the Kurds out at some point.

But the way they did it is breathtaking. There's none of the realpolitik that normally governs these things.

It is also very naive or extremely nefarious to assert that Turkey is fighting against ‘The Kurds’ when Ankara has maintained it is fighting against a US-designated terrorist group the PKK-YPG.

Which is why Turkey stops Kurdish children being educated in their native language. Because all Kurdish kids are PKK cadres.

Look, I'm not naive enough to think politics in that part of the world ever extends beyond ethnicity and/or tribe.

But let's be honest, what the Kurds had in Rojava was about as close to what we have in Straya as anywhere in the region.

They were building something genuine.

I’m with you, sometimes you’ve gotta seperate the culture from the ideology but all we need is the Chinese Communist Party to blend nasserism with the surveillance state and package it up to give to paranoid Saudis.
sometimes ideology is dangerous..

the yanks were never going to let the PKK have a state, the Kurds would’ve had more chance. Especially if it were along the eastern border with Iraq..

Its interesting though all these folks so aerated by free speech in sport and the NBA and China, you didn't hear much from them on Colin Kaepernick.

Out of interest which was this?

Also, way to not understand the point.

You're sooooooooooooo out of your depth talking media reporting and Syria.
So highlighting a piece of fake news = your response: "you're sooooooooo out of your depth...leave it to me....I'm awesome"

jesus christ.

rule 1 of jean: tell everyone how awesome you are.
rule 2 of jean: look at these old photos...I reported here once and therefore only I'm allowed to talk about the subject

You're so self-absorbed you'll bring those up when people weren't even reporting anything other than fake news (which you are unsurprisingly trying to defend).

Please. He's a money-hungry bullshitter just like Lebron. He only cares about setting himself apart from the rest and getting $$$. Fair play to him it worked. But if he was so big on equality (like Lebron) he wouldn't be accepting millions from Nike. He'd accept sponsorship from companies that have ethically sourced clothing and shoes. But of course, you'll defend that because it doesn't suit your argument. He's 60 million Colin, we profit from making kids work 16 hour days and have done for decades now - don't mention that though...you just keep bending the knee :drunk:

Yeah and if Muhammad Ali really cared about black people he wouldn't have made his money from hitting them right?

BTW - still waiting to hear which "shit news org that I routinely defend" it was that got done for fake Syrian news.

Which one was it?
