Thanks for the advice Atavistic, Gram is a pretty big hole atm. I hope he returns to form too but it's definitely not guaranteed. If he doesn't pick up I will look to upgrade him before finals. Yeah Chappy is very risky, I was only considering him because Gibbs' tagging role is hurting him and I could only justify trading him to someone if they were a really big scorer. But his injury risk is way too risky so yeah fair call.

Here is my Team, with 4 trades left and 65k in the bank:

B: Goddard, Enright, Goodwin, Hodge, Malceski, Lake, Broughton (Webberly, Silvagni)

M: Swan, Ablett, Montagna, Judd, Mitchell, Boyd (Banner, Mcniel)

R: Sandilands, Hille (Trengrove, Warnock)

F: Pavlich, Chapman, Podsiadly, Goodes, O'keefe, Brown, Franklin (Rockliff, Casboult)

I'm thinking of trading Hille for Cox and possibly trading in Roo but not sure who to drop from the forwads.

Your forward line looks good, and there's no obvious candidates for who to drop for Roo, it seems like a trade for the sake of it. If you are really keen on getting him, I'd wait til he's bottomed out, and put in a decent game where he has been given a full run, which will be at least 2 more games, maybe more IMO.
Maybe Podsiadly, seeing as all of his huge scores have been at Skilled Stadium, and Cats only have one more game there after this week, and that's in the last round...

Great team BTW.

Not really rating side needed, just some advice would be nice :)

What should I do with my last trade? In the Riewoldt thread, we've had arguments about Skipper being the one to be sacrificed with the last trade, but his capability of scoring big has me happy with him still, so i wonder what should be my last move.

I'll probably save last trade for around round 18-19. $192k left.

Backs: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Scotland, Gilbert, Enright, Shaw (Nason, Roberton)
Mids: Swan, Ablett, Selwood, Bartel, Judd, Boyd (Shuey, McNeil)
Rucks: Sandilands, Skipper (Bellchambers, Grimley)
Fwds: Chapman, Pavlich, O'Keefe, Goodes, Podsiadly, Franklin, Brown (Rockliff, Hitchcock)

1. Hitchcock to Riewoldt: I was going to get Roo when he bottomed out and put Goodes on my Midfield bench for cover, but with Goodes going...well...Good, that might be a concern now. Having Rockliff and either Brown, ROK, Goodes on the bench is overkill, even with their MPP ability. It could pay off when the Cats rest their mids, so that is why i'm willing to sacrifice some big bench scores to have that cover for one round that could make or break me. There is no guarantee Hitchy will even achieve his BE again and this could be a moot point.

2. Shuey to Higgins: Just realised i have enough cash to get Higgins on my mid bench...but that was thrown up in the air after seeing Shuey is only one week away  Higgins gives me decent mid cover and is MPP with my forward boys. Could end up saving me but then if the cats rest, ill have Hitchcock's 20-30 on the field :(

3. Wait for LTI: Just wait and replace a long term injury (Could only be a hammy at round 19).

4. Skipper to any ruck: Skipper's 149 has totally pushed his value right up and now has a BE of -8. If i wait a few, I could move him for a high performing Ruck riding the waves of a good last few rounds. It could be seen as a sideways trade soon and not really that beneficial.

5. Nason/Roberton to Fisher, Duffield: Hell, i got a trade left, why not blow it on a decent upgrade on my def bench :) Useless waste of a trade but give me 2 decent backups on 2 key areas of the ground. Straight swaps yes, but lack of mid cover makes this silly :(

Option 3 :thumbsu:

Your look to have a decent side there. What are your overall goals? Where are you sitting overall. Placed handy in your leagues? No need to trade IMO. Any of your guns could be rested over the SC final period and that last trade is gold.

Overall goal is highest overall possible. Currently 435, don't care about leagues.

I know it's the safe bet, but you just never know when/where you might need that final trade.

What if one of your backmen (or ruckmen) who aren't MPPs go down, and you have to play Roberton/Bellchambers in a final?

I reckon Lake/Jamar would be the better option, and keeping that trade would allow you to do that. :):D:thumbsu:

Also gives you more options if players (i.e. Ablett/Chapman) get rested.

Option 3 for me!

Sandilands, Tippet (Warnock, Lobbe)

Goodes, Franklin, Harvey, Brown, Podz, Rockliff, Higgins, (Fyfe, Watts)

With three trades left your hands are basically tied.

I'd take a look at your remaning games and if you're assured finals, sit tight and hope you don't get any LTIs. All going according to plan, I'd be looking to get Cox in for Tippett maybe come finals, rest of the team looks decent

My team:

Goddard, Hodge, Malcheski, Enight, Duffield, Scotland, Kennelly (Davis, Webberly)

Ablett, Swan, Judd, Bartel, Pendlebury, Mitchell (Bastinac, Gysberts)

Sandi, Cox

Pav, Goodes, O'Keefe, Brown, Franklin, Thomas, Rockliff (Ballantyne, Watts)

5 trades left, 50K in bank.

Hoping to upgrade Ballantyne for a premium come finals, which would finish off the side and give me good bench cover in every position.

Hi guys any help appreciated here to see what I can do with my team. Unfortunately too many drunk thursdays night trades have occured.
My team is

Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Enright, Shaw, Waters, Henderson (Sheppard, Heath)

Swan, Ablett, Montagna, Selwood, DalSanto, Cooney (Gysberts, C Beams)

Sandilands, Cox (Skipper, Lobbe)

Chapman, Pavlich, Okeefe, Didak, Rioli, Podsiadly, Brown (Gumbleton, Roberts)

I'm about 6000 overall and 2nd, 4th, 1st in my leagues. Guaranteed top 4 so no need to trade til finals.

With ONLY 1 TRADE, but with $263k cash in bank, I'm thinking only real option would be Sheppard to either a Lake or Gilbee, making Waters or Henderson either 7th back/emergency. I would not do this until 1st/2nd week finals.

currently ranked 693, 2 trades left, my side is as follows.....

defense: Grundy 92average, newman 95, shaw 95, gilbee 103, malceski 106, hodge 125, goddard 132 ( roberton 65, smith 83)

Mids: Boyd 113, dal santo 114, selwood 116, judd 122, swan 123, ablett 128 ( shuey 58, sewell 89)

Rucks: Cox 88, sandilands 121 ( lobbe 40, skipper 68)

Forwards: higgins 78, goodes 89, okeefe 94, pods 97, didak 99, pavlich 102, chapman 124 ( moore 42, stewart 43 )

my forward line cover isnt great, but i have mpp flexibility with moore, goodes and grundy.

I dunno if I should trade Fyfe as another cash cow for this week then have some more $$$ in the bank for like Goddard and Lake next week?

Suggestions?

Your in a nice position trade and cash wise. :thumbsu: I'm not sure i'd want to be downgrading Fyfe to a 100k player as it will leave you with very shakey bench cover should the 100k forward get dropped. I'm not even sure if there are any real downgrade options in the forward line atm anyway (TDL in an emergency).

I hope you upgraded Nason because that's your obvious weakeness and you don't want rookie starting at this time of year. Also because his BE is high if you haven't done it now you will find it hard to do for a while.

If I were you I would go Nason > Gilbert/Duffield or similar which still leaves you about 170k. That is enough to do any forward upgrade if you need to, and I wouldn't be downgrading Fyfe since a) you have only 8 playing forwards and b) there's no decent forward rookies (unless you were going to get an MPP to work with Waite, then it might make sense).

You may want to generate cash to upgrade Hunt in finals and that's when I'd deal with Fyfe b/c by then it might be clearer what, if any forward rookies are viable.

I eneded up dropping Dangerfield for Didak, so doesn't look like I'll be getting Roo into my fwd line. I'm going to use 2 trades next week to get Goddard into my team them I should be set with 3 trades for finals

my team with 2 trades left, $32,300 & ranked 3094 overall

defence: hodge, goddard, lake, malceski, duffield, enright, shaw & smith, strijk
mids: swan, ablett, montagna, cooney, judd, boyd & blair, shuey
rucks: sandi, cox, & warnock, trengove
fwds: harvey, didak, goodes, o'keefe, pods, franklin, rockliff, & fyfe, peterson

Pretty happy with my team and this will be my team going into the finals. ive got cover in all areas except the mids but hopefully i wont need to use blair providing he keeps his place which i think he should for the next week or 2. the last 2 trades will be used for any injuries.

not bad at all mate. pretty covered on the bench too! might be worth going blair to hardingham next week so you have bench cover, i think he'll play out the season.

Mine is:
DEF: hodge goddard, enright, gilbee, malceski, gilbert, shaw (smith, roberton)
MIDS: ablett, judd, selwood, cooney, montagna, ROK (gysberts, JKT)
RUCK: sandi, JOLLY (warnock, trengove)
FWD: Pav, Franklin, Goodes, Brown, Harvey, Pods, ROO (Davis, hitchcock)

I will have 3 trades and 15k going into finals (capitals are being bought in for tippet and fyfe tm)

D: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Gilbee, Enright, Goodwin, Maguire (Shepperd, Webberley)
M: Ablett, Selwood, Judd, Pendlebury, Cooney, Dal Santo (JKT, Gysbert)
R: Sandilands, Cox (Warnock, Lobbe)
F: Pavlich, ROK, Didak, Franklin, Pods, Brown, Rockliff (Watts, Gray)

4trades left, 145k remaining.

My plan is to use 2 trades and get rid of Goodwin and Maguire for Kelly & Scotland, AND next week i'll get rid of either Gray or Pods for Roo. I really want Lake in the backline but i can only do that from the Goodwin trade.

DEF: Goddard, Lake, Malceski, Waters, Hunt, Kennelly (Roberton, Strijk)
MID: Hodge, Ablett, Montagna, Dal Santo, Judd, O'Keefe (Bail, Gysberts)
RUCK: Sandiland, Skipper (Naitanui, Bass)
FWD: Chapman, Pavlich, Didak, Hall, Cloke, Rockliff, Higgins (Rohan, Hicks)

Two trades left, $79,200 spare. Will downgrade Naitanui to Lobbe (?) next week to upgrade another player (probably Kennelly)

B: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Malceski, Gilbert, Waite, Hurn (Strijk & Roberton)
M: Ablett, Montagna, Swan, Dal Santo, Judd, Selwood (Hardingham & Shuey)
R: Sandilands, NicNat (Trengove & Lobbe)
F: Pavlich, Didak, Goodes, Franklin, ROK, Higgins, Pods (Moore & TDL)

I dunno WTF has gone wrong this year. I'm fairly happy with my team, but im ranked a lowly 8k, & will miss finals in at least one league, maybe two.

Backs: Hodge, Malceski, Gilbee, Duffield, Enright, Gilbert, Hunt (Nason, Webberly)
Mids: Swan, Ablett. G, Selwood. J, Pendlebury, Cooney, Simpson. K (Blair, Shuey)
Rucks: Sandilands, Jolly (Warnock, Lobbe)
Forwards: Pavlich, Goodes, O'Keefe, Brown. J, Rockliff, Higgins, Riewoldt. N (Rohan, Watts)

Only have 1 trade left though, and $185k left in the bank - hoping to upgrade Hunt come second or third week of finals, assuming no LTI & I can hold out that long against the opposition.

I'd follow that Hardingham advice to free up some cash (and provide cover)

M: Ablett, Selwood, Judd, Pendlebury, Cooney, Dal Santo (JKT, Gysbert)

You need to get some cover in the mids. Get Mcneil for $84k and use him. Then do Brown to Roo now. Should leave you with enough coin in the bank and 2 trades left to upgrade one more back next week and get cover in your midfield.

DEF: Goddard, Lake, Malceski, Waters, Hunt, Kennelly (Roberton, Strijk)
MID: Hodge, Ablett, Montagna, Dal Santo, Judd, O'Keefe (Bail, Gysberts)
RUCK: Sandiland, Skipper (Naitanui, Bass)
FWD: Chapman, Pavlich, Didak, Hall, Cloke, Rockliff, Higgins (Rohan, Hicks)

Two trades left, $79,200 spare. Will downgrade Naitanui to Lobbe (?) next week to upgrade another player (probably Kennelly)

I'd be more worried about the fwd line than Kennelly. Cloke looks to be the obvious one to upgrade. I'd be careful about having zero bench cover in the rucks.

B: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Malceski, Gilbert, Waite, Hurn (Strijk & Roberton)
M: Ablett, Montagna, Swan, Dal Santo, Judd, Selwood (Hardingham & Shuey)

Team looks OK. Only obvious missing piece is Roo and maybe a better 2nd ruck??

I'd leave Hunt and look to Simpson for one of the Saints to upgrade. NDS, Montagna, Hayes. Even Goddard. Plus the benefit of MPP with Gilbee & Hodge.

Backs: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Enright, Harbrow, Hurn, Webberly (Sheppard,Davis)

Mids: Ablett, Selwood, Pendlebury, Montagna, Cooney, Judd (Crichton, Jetta)

Rucks: Mcintosh, Naitanui (Roughead, Lobbe)

Forwards: Pav, Okeefe, Franklin, Pods, Brown, Higgins, Fyfe (Gumby, Tarrant)

4 trades left with $277,000.

Need opinions on trades. Already used 1 this week to free up cash so only have 1 left. Roo in? Really want to get Lake in my backline as well.

Probably one premium back short.

Mids are Good but the obvious one missing is Swan. Coverage looks limited too.

Rucks are hellish. Naitanui Needs to go for a premium. McIntosh is probably OK. Roughead MAY become a better option in the coming weeks so maybe hold back a game or two.

Lake's price will drop if he only scores 100 or so  Maybe hold out until next week.

Roo is now or never.
