No worries mate!

id do the ball to Boyd. Boyd will be a premium mid fielder this year barring injury. I think boyd will be good enough to be in your miod field at the end of the season and should average 100. I dont think ball will, i rekon you will need to upgrade him at some stage to complete your mid field.

Gray is a bit injury prone but i think has a big upside especially getting a run in the mid field. I think he is more likley to become a keeper in the forwards than ball is in the mids

Backs - Goddard, Enright, Duffield, Hodge, H. Shaw, Hunt, Waters (Magurie, Nason)

Mids- Bartel (c), Boyd, Mitchell, Trengove, Martin, Barlow (Shuey, Letta)

Rucks- Sandi, Hille (Warnock, Lobbe)

Forwards - Roo, ROK, Gia, Grey, Tippett, Zeibell, Dangerfield (Gumbleton, Hitchcock)

$9000 left......... - till teams come out

It allowed me to sure up the bench with jetta/gumby and get in zeibell for hall - was really strapped for cash b4........

also was thinking - every man and their dog has martin/barlow so trengove isnt that risky with his job security and the im sure he can take any mid priced mid :D

As long as your tappy with it thats the main thing
Im not telling you wat to do just giving your other alternatives to consider before lockout. I think trengoves a good selection. One of the safest out of the rookies imo because he has one of the best job securitys. Martin and barlow are must haves.

Now please dont turn around and crack the shits if Tengrove does a knee in round one and mastens pulling hundreds lol :eek:

Risky ruck set up so I'd be tempted to fit Tippet into the forwards as you have Lobbe for the DP swap if necessary. Forward line is weak I'd be tempted to downgrade Ablett to Bartel for the extra $ and spend it in the forwards and maybe downgrade a back also for the money in the forwards.

Thanks, makes sense. Keeping my risky rucks though as I believe they are the best value. Not confident in any of the premiums (for the cost). $103k in the bank I should have mentioned but I'm really unsure who to upgrade in the forwards. Could change ROK for Franklin if I need extra cash for others too.

Hey boys and girls.
40k in the bank, pretty happy with the look of my team.
My rationale for Staker is I see him being a lead up forward who takes a lot of marks and has the ball funnelled through him. Feel free to talk me out of it.
Dangerfield is a bit of a risk but I read an article by Simon Goodwin saying he saw him becoming a 25-30 possession mid this year. Here's hoping!

Out of the 150-200k defenders Ladson seems to be the most durable. I wouldn't be comfortable putting both Waters and Hunt in the same backline so I guess your hands are tied somewhat there. You might need to cross your fingers with your backline and bench although it looks like Nason is playing round 1 so that's a good start.

Your side looks great - i'm surprised it fits inside the salary cap to be honest. The only concen i'd have is having Hitchcock starting with only Podsiadly and Roberts on the bench. I don't think either player will get too many games this year (Roberts may get a few).

I'd have Harbrow over Drummond in DT quite easily.

Ziebell over Dangerfield quite easily as well.

Not a bad side, I think you could get some cash by getting a cheaper option in the FWDs at the expense of Chap/Higgins/Gia/Franklin.

Other things:

Bit risky starting a FWD rookie as there arent too many solid options.
Greenwood in Mids is a bit odd, but I guess you're going for DP which is ok
Having all 4 of Malceski, Kennelly, Hunt and Waters is a bit of a risk

I wouldn't worry too much about how much $ you have left in the bank.

Good looking side although you should definitely down trade Lobbe to a $77K ruckman as you won't need him with Warnock as back up.

I'd then use the extra $ plus the $13K you already have to upgrade Gumbleton. He is injury prone (as you'd already know) and is unlikely to score very well even if he does play. If your set on keeping him move him to the bench and upgrade Rockliff.

Greenwood is an interesting choice, i like it. I think he could average 70+

Staker looks good every year. Shows glimpses of brilliance in games but ultimately he does poorly, and plays half the games.

But, if he's shown more for Brisbane and is best 22, then good luck.

Backs......Maybe shore up the bench a little. Unknown how many games Nason will play at this stage, let alone Farmer. I have Nason and Maguire on the pine. Otherwise, very strong up back

Mids....3 rookies starting......I just can't do it but hope they string some games together for you.....Not known yet whether Shuey will start, can you get Trengove in there somewhere. Better security and will be easier to upgrade

Rucks....all good.....

Forwards......strong....i think you'll have cover for R1 with Buddy...surely 1 of Rockliff or Hitchcock will play yeah?? 3 doggies???.....don't want to spread it out across the teams some more??

Mackay I think (hoping) will have an awesome year. The first 3 i've always had and certainly not changing them. Only the 2 rookie starting option...doesn't appear to be common with most teams i see starting 3.

Rucks
Sandi, Ottens......Warnock, Lobbe
Have Tippet in the forwards if Ottens and Warnock break a toe nail......

Forwards
Riewoldt, ROK, Gia, Gray, Tippet, Medhurst, Dangerfield.....Rockliff, Hitchcock

Gray....yes and no....Medhurst.....always a player I don't really want to pick but have. Hall is just to risky for me.....1 stray punch and he's gone, too many carry over points. And I just can't see too much upside in Ziebell (will depend though, for me, where they slot him in). Dangerfield......conflicted.....any other decent options at that price...Warren maybe???

Really unique side! changes needed IMO

Foley is injured
Silvagni hasn't been elevated yet
Watts is only just easing back from injury - so unlikely to play early
Get rid of Presti

Probably start your forward line again from scratch
