very pleasing weekend. kebabs all round!! :D
:D :D :D

first win against the dockers. congrats to whoever it was getting on us 1-39 at $5 something!
Living dangerously I had a cheeky punt on us at -24.5... Needless to say it was a tense last quarter and now I'm milking it for all its worth ;)

I thought the reason Harley left Gold Coast was because you didn't want him anymore?
He's been replaced by a younger, Less coked up model.

Thoughts

Lynch - All hail Based Lynch, Turns out that bloke with the beard was just a distraction from his magnificence.

Hall - I'll echo what SUNS said to me last week. Who is this new kid we've picked up wearing #33? I can't believe that it's the same Aaron Hall that we used to love to call shit every week.

Gaz - not quite still at his best but the rest of the team is lifting around him and it's brilliant to see that we don't need him to do as much carrying as he used to

Harbs - Bloody stellar, Every time we seemed like we'd leak a goal he'd mop up and rebound out with that running game of his.

The Bash Bros. - Maysie and Rory towled it up down back, Pav got a few marks here and there but for the most part he was an afterthought compared to Walters and Mayne.

I could go on and on but I'll leave it there Awesome win, A few things to clean up but with players still to come back this gives me confidence moving forward.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned on here guys, but as someone who has him in my SuperCoach team, I'm loving what Hall is producing so far this year (and in the last few rounds of last year). The great irony is that he has literally become the player that you guys always wanted Bennell to be (but without all the issues), right after he left. Congrats on the great win, and all the best for the rest of the season!

Saad made a ton of big plays like this as well. The defense was solid all game long. They gave up some goals, but they never let Freo get on too much of a run. And the Suns moving forward on the counter attack were absolutely lethal. So nice to see them finding open marks and good runners to get the footy inside 50 so quickly. Wasn't long ago they'd struggle to get it to midfield, then just boot it in to Dixon or Lynch in triple coverage. But now they are clicking. Good job, Rocket.

Awesome win guys, I really enjoyed watching that. You played a really exciting brand of football and have some real dash in your team. The best part though was the ability to see the win through when challenged - on field leadership has come a long way. I am looking forward to the day when you have Ablett, Hall, Prestia, Swallow and O'Meara on the paddock at the same time.

Hard to fathom that we played that well in the West and won.
Fyfe played well and we still won.
Sandi dominated the ruck and we still won.
Gaz was non-dominant and we still won.
Overall, pleasing.

Otherwise:
  • Jack showing he can be a dominant marking half forward a big big step both for him and our forward line. Has been too quiet for such a highly rated player.
  • Sexton starting to show why they have stuck with him; takes the game on and sometimes stuffs it up, but when it works he can break lines and defensive webs and those blokes do not grow on trees.
  • Harbrow is a good player, just has not shown it enough in the last couple of years; great time to get back in form, including with some actual defense.
  • Worried that we have too many halfbacks in the team. KK looked 'off' but also might need a lot of the pill to be effective.
  • Mal has looked better this year but a big chance to make way for Rosa; methinks not enough room for Mal, KK, Harbrow and Trent in the same team.
  • Tommy Nich got beaten a lot by Sandi but kept having a crack and had just enough influence to win a few key clearances. Would be happy enough if he settles as a good first ruck (a fair way off elite atm).
  • Ah Chee has got something. Nice that fans can see a bit of what Clayton and the recruiting team could see.

Nice review up there by Stroppy
I was wondering what I thought about Tommy Nick and that just about sums it up
Beaten at the tap as expected but just competitive enough around ground
As harsh as I was on Sexy during the game, he has amazing closing speed and takes on the lines
Mal Mal Mal - I so want you to do well.....certainly much better but you can't play half back and be Fumbly McFumblemaster
As an edit Walters went a bit early with the look at me goal celebration in the first quarter eh

Watching replay I can see why rocket praised Lemmens. Made some mistakes but done some very nice things too.
Lemmens was very good. Did a few Lemmens cringing things but overall was hard at it. Just needs to continue working on his disposal and decision-making and stop telegraphing his disposals to the opposition and that second small defender's spot is his.
