We're going to Brisbane to play on a ground that we have a good record on. Against a good side - but it should be said that Brisbane are coming off a very average performance where the Eagles were in front for the majority of the game.

Stewart will miss - and there's some talk that Cameron is 50/50 with a calf niggle suffered early against the Saints. Possibly Kolo back for some extra cover down back. I think Mullin has to stay in the side as Brisbane have some small forwards that hit the scoreboard, and it's an area of the ground we tend to get exposed in throughout games.

Brisbane deserve to start favourites but I think we'll see a much different Geelong. As bad as they were against the Saints, they lost by a kick. Let's keep some perspective.
Saints have some small forwards who can hit the scoreboard too. They kept hitting it all night :p

I don't think that's Mullins' fault, as such - he had a few different roles, but the more experienced guys need to do better.

I am about to start believing in Jesus
He's proven over many years to be somewhat unreliable.

But I'll be prepared to switch and become a true believer if Stewart plays on Saturday and we win. I wonder if he can turn his attention to Toby Conway? I can think of another bloke who would gladly take any help he can get from him as well.

Following Saturday night's match against St Kilda, Geelong's Executive General Manager - Football Andrew Mackie can provide the following update on vice-captain Tom Stewart.

"In positive news, scans on Monday morning have ruled out any serious injury to Tom's right knee.

"With two training sessions remaining before we head to Brisbane, Tom will be closely monitored throughout the week and will be a test to play against the Lions on Saturday night."

Great news. Realistically, he will probably still miss 2-3 weeks, yeah?
Just rest him either way IMO, same with Cameron and Baz if they're sore.

Would rather we try to ensure the Melbourne game is a win, and build from there.

We're not without a chance, but in those conditions, I don't think we want underdone players slipping and sliding for 120 minutes.

A knee and two calf niggles just feels like asking for trouble on a wet, humid deck.

I would like to have Stanley and Mannagh come in for this one with Blicavs providing midfield minutes with his bigger body protecting our smaller mids. The strength of our current list appears to lie in its utilitarianism to rotate through different roles, particularly in the midfield and across halfback. I want to see Bowes play for his career this weekend because his inconsistency as a seasoned player is hurting us when we are trying to develop kids around him.

Fix Toby? Even Jesus has limits.

I understand Stewart hasn't been totally ruled out this week, but if he's absent I think we'll see Bowes playing more in defence this week, especially as Brisbane played more of a mosquito fleet last week and we probably don't want to go in too tall this week

I think that mosquito fleet is also why we likely see Mullin hold his spot
