Autopsy Rd 3 Insipid Loss to Carlton (Be Civil)

Worrying how easily they took away our entire game plan , which seemed to be Darcy making a contest up the line or in the forward fifty. This was amplified by the midfield getting smashed all game. Defence never stood a chance given the amount of entries and the control Carlton had in the middle.

I get the team selection logic off the back of a good win the week prior but surely when you have forwards kicking bags in 2s the B graders get dropped to make way. Bombing long to short people/rucks is a dumb game plan.

So we all ready to stop the whole Cox > Hamling > Pearce > Hamling > Cox > Hamling > Pearce garbage now? Cox isn't a contested tall. Need Logue back next week, need to pray Hamling gets back. Cox is still B22, but only looks cute off HBF or on the wing when he's playing loose.

But we'll probably forget about today's game like the one where Jeremy Cameron buried him.

With our injuries I really don’t think personal changes changes much.
We still lack Genuine depth ,and still lack genuine A graders across all lines
Forward of centre most obvious
.
Whist Sturt may have made some cosmetic difference (he honestly needed to come back through the WAFL after such a long layoff..remember Pearce and hamling anyone??) and treacy projects as promising , thinking either of those 2 would’ve made any difference Is laughable.

Effort , (combined with some proactive coaching)is where we got shown up today

We need to come to play , every minute of every game.. or we’re going no where ,sound familar ?

Stopped watching when we were still in front in the first. Good call. Worst performance against them in 20 years. Time to start learning from mistakes in poor losses otherwise some heads will start rolling in the coaching department again.

Just so poor once more with the ball in hand. We keep playing skinny down the line footy, and refuse to use the full width of the ground. We will struggle to kick winning scores until we do. We didn't seem to have much of a plan b or show any dynamism from the coaching box.

Thought Darcy was poor. On form, would rank him 3rd on our ruck depth chart.

Tabs is obviously injured and we need to manage him carefully.

Also thought both Aish and Acres were largely anonymous on the wings.

The midfield were beat up. Brayshaw and Cerra were disappointing in the clinches.

I am literally crying right now. I can't believe this. Another year, another waste. This was suppose to be our year. The same suspects each week letting us all down.

I might be heartbroken, but I'll still keep supporting this team.

I hope you aren't 'literally' crying over a game of Footy. Besides, at least things can't get worse.

Just chill people’s
This was always on the cards
No way Carlton we’re going 0/3
We spent the week reading our own press ignoring the fact GWS were witches hats
It’s what Freo do
We played the game out , that’s a positive
Longmuir is just about to feel his first blowtorch being applied, rightly so
It’s all about how we react next week

Sometimes you’ve got to read the room & Carlton were always going to come out hard after being under the pump all week & vision of their coach fuming at training.
Yes selection was an issue, but that doesn’t excuse effort from the players selected, it’s their job ffs. Time for a real close look at this replay & call out individual performances & moments in front of the players.
It’s certainly not the end of the world & each game is an experience for the younger players. It could have been a 12+ goal loss & the fight was led by the younger players.
No brainer bringing in Sturt & Treacy next week & hopefully Fyfe is ok as well. HF Frederick Tabs Switta
FF Walters Treacy Sturt
looks far more balanced.

Don't say that!! Ok now we get injuries on the flight home...

Do I have to be civil?
I always liked mechanical and electrical better.
And aeronautical was best of all.

As for the analysis of the game:
Last week's drive and enthusiasm and positivity was replaced by a mob of timid field mice who were scared of the Easter bunny's shadow.
And our coaches made David Teague look like the second coming of Chuck Norris.

But at least it is a long weekend so I can drown the memories in chocolate and eggnog.
My gawd. A flogging on Easter Sunday and now Dad jokes.

Injuries don’t matter. Apart from Hamling, the structure should hold up.
Logue is injury prone, Pearce is done. What else is there?
Play Treacy and Sturt. Darcy has now taken Meek’s spot. JLo is yet again going to react.
We lost for the second time on the selection table. Too precarious. Tried to play a faux/part time forward with Darcy (Pearcevs Melbourne). Pathetic

I've learnt my lesson and stopped watching us play away games. I had my sister and her kids over for lunch and they just left. Was a great day. Just checked the score and shrugged my shoulders. They'll come out during the week and say "we need to be better, blah, blah, blah". Then beat Hawthorn. Then lose to Adelaide. Then say "we need to be better, blah, blah, blah". Then beat North. Then lose to WC. Entirely predictable up to the end of Rd 7. The question will be what happens once we have to start playing some better sides at home.

Lol blame the selection table. We lost the game out of the mid.

Cox is not capable of playing on the monster forwards, we need one of Hamling or preferably Pearce fit.
Spot on.
He’s the floater- where he’s most effective
As a stopper he’s almost a liability, especially on the monster key forwards.
Like all parts of the ground you need a variety of types snd we definitely need one of our stopper kpb in
