What changed from last year. I feel like we aren't going in anywhere near as hard as we were last year.

Leunberger is so so good. He is an elite ruckmen. If we can't keep him I may be the guy stopping traffic because I am hanging off the Story bridge.
We are playing so dumb at the moment as well, just so frustrating. Extremely glad we got the win but I don't think we improved that much from last week it was just the opposition was a lot worse.

Please sit through Round 1 again if you feel like it :).
Honestly, we look like rolls royce today in comparison. Hitting players on chest in the lead.. wow.

Put a smile on my face to see Mayes walk up to Browny with a big grin. This was after Browny kicked the goal that Mayes set up. Browny gave him a friendly pat on the head - more like "where were you until now? " :D.

Seriously, how good is Moloney.

Neeld is an idiot. Beamer has been dominating at the clearances all day. In round one the Doggies were well aware of him and gave him no space at the stoppages. Doesn't look like anyone for the Demons is thinking the same thing.

He was awesome today.
Hopefully will finish his career at the Lions.
Well done Brent, reckon it was your early work that helped get the win.
Did the number 3 proud:thumbsu:

I feel like a lot of that had more to do with lack of pressure from the Demons compared to the Bulldogs and Roos.

Green wasn't clean tonight but I hought he looked good further up field, he seemed to spend a bit of time in the middle in the third (or perhaps the play just dragged him there) but his attack on the ball and his pace were handy.

When we used the ball short we looked really good (Apart from all the butchered shots at goal). When we went long we looked like a bush league side.

Thought there were more than enough positives, even though obviously Melbourne are pretty awful.

Biggest negative was some really non existent forward line pressure, alot of arm grabs and attempted shirt grabs but little actual tackling pressure.

I think Brown's pretty much done.

:/ that's a bit too far i think mate. Maybe have a read of what happened to him if you haven't already.

As I said earlier, if his head wasn't on the job today, he shouldn't have umpired today. That simple. Sure I feel sorry for him, but that does not mean he is immune or should escape criticism. His biasness was laughable.

He clearly wasn't in the right place to umpire, and poor decision by the AFL to allow him to do it.

Like a player, once he steps onto the field there are no excuses, and today he was as far below AFL standard as I have seen an umpire.

I think Brown played well today

I thought we only looked awful going long into the forward line and that was because the forward line was generally offering nothing. One moment that really displayed our poor forward movement (and our oppositions lack of pressure) was Golby holding the ball for five minutes waiting for someone to present and give him an option (or a Melbourne player to actually come at him) in the end he bombed it long to the goal square and Browny won a free to get the goal. We really need to start getting some cohesion with our forward options or think about how we can improve our forward line in the future. It's such a glaring weakness.

McGrath really stepped it up today and provided plenty of run in the absence of Hanley. Yeo was terrific. Clarke didn't look out of place.

Agreed, but we started showing the willingness to run for each other now. This was missing for the last few rounds. Players willingly put an extra shepherd in, giving the ball carrier few more precious seconds.

Decent effort today even by the ones who didn't have the ball.

One year he's a forward, the next he's a defender. I guess this year he's a defender. Shades of 2009 with him today.
